      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

It may not be the killer thrill ride you'd expect from an action movie with a cast of this caliber, but Red still thoroughly outshines most of its big-budget counterparts with its wit and style.

Deborah Ross The Spectator The stars? Well, while I'm sure they had fun phoning in their performances - I hope they've destroyed the records - I can't help wishing they were all doing something more interesting. Aug 30, 2018 Full Review Candice Frederick Reel Talk Online Together they make up for decent movie, with occasionally good action scenes. Rated: C+ Sep 8, 2017 Full Review Peter Rainer Christian Science Monitor Red is a goofball lament. It's saying that in the good old days, or at least in the good old movie days, our killers were good-time guys. Rated: B- Jan 3, 2011 Full Review Michael Leader Den of Geek It's more annoying than charming, taking time away from character development in favour of a rather simple romantic arc... Rated: 2/5 May 7, 2024 Full Review Michael Clark Epoch Times Baring just a slight resemblance to the far more serious and violent graphic novel on which it’s based, “RED” never veers far outside traditional action/comedy boundaries yet delivers welcomed surprises at every turn. Rated: 4.5/5 Sep 18, 2023 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review Red could have easily been a summer blockbuster, given the wowing cast, comic origins, and adrenaline-powered pacing. But there’s more here than merely another comic book movie looking to service fanboys alone. Rated: 3/4 Aug 3, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Marcus L Great film.great actors Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/10/24 Full Review Robert L it's the grate movie with first range actor & actress! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/17/24 Full Review Shaun E After a slightly odd and confusing start, RED soon gets into some compelling if not entirely believable action. But it matters not because as a yarn, it is good for a laugh. The convoluted plot is slowly revealed and the gang of Retired Extremely Dangerous former agents slowly comes together. The action somewhat ridiculously takes place in locations that seem to far apart to work in the plot and realistic timescales, but perhaps that is intentional. This appears to be less about suspending belief, but more about laughing at the implausible. The all-star casting certainly helps with the entertainment level. There is a somewhat weak twist at the end, but whatever. The film was enjoyable for what it was. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/05/24 Full Review alan g More fun than the premise. Good acting except for Morgan Freeman. E When his hollywood going to realize he is a one trick pony. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/24 Full Review Audience Member Over the top action beginning transitioned to a slow stage setting but then the rest of the movie moved pretty well. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/21/24 Full Review Dan C I loved this. Obviously this movie is a hilarious spoof on James Bond/007/CIA movies, and all the actors just ace this. They script is superb, I've seen this at least 7 times. So funny, they clearly enjoyed filming this. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/16/24 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
