Stephen F. Austin High School Reviews
Rating 3.8 out of 5 764 reviews
As a senior who's been at Austin for the past 4 years, I've seen everything this high school has to offer and overall, I feel like it was a mostly positive experience. The best parts of my experience were definitely towards the end of the school year when all the teaching and tests were done and us students had a few days to just hangout in teachers classrooms and talk to them about things going on in our lives or our interests with them. The few days we got to do this, I was able to become closer to my teachers even though it was the last few times we would see them. A negative experience I had at Austin, although none really stand out, would be with clubs and activities. Most of the clubs here are run by students and even though we have adult "sponsors" who are teachers, they never really help with the club and if the student "officers" of the club decide to start slacking, the entire club gets destroyed. Besides that, my experience has been very positive.
I graduated from Stephen F Austin spring of 2023. There are a lot of great thing about the school. For example, the diversity of students that attended. We had many races, cultures, and different backgrounds all in one school. That kind of diversity really helped me see different views of the world as I was able to make friends with many people. I also played sports while I was in high school. I can’t say that we were the best in our district, however I always had fun with my team through heartbreaking losses and exciting wins. I was able to excel in high school because of my teachers and administers, especially Mr. Long and Mrs. Wade. I looked forward to meeting with my counselor, Mrs. Wade, to talk about my future plans and what was best for me. I also passed many of my classes due to teachers actually putting in the effort to help their students understand the subject at hand. I made so many impactful and enjoyable memories at Stephen F Austin High school and would do it all again.
It's a good school if you want to be involved in everything. Don't know what else to say, teachers are nice and always supportive and administration always wants to help out too.
