USC Baseball Blasts No. 17 Oregon 11-4 for Series Win

LOS ANGELES, CA --USC received contributions from every part of their lineup, as all nine starters reached base safely, helping the Trojans put 11 runs on the board and take down the No. 17 Oregon Ducks 11-4 on Sunday afternoon.

The win secured the sixth straight series win at home for the Trojans and gave USC wins in six of their eight Pac-12 series this season. Freshman Michael Ebner (1-0) picked up the victory out of the bullpen for USC (27-20-1, 13-11). The right-hander went two innings, giving up one run on three hits, allowing two walks and striking out two. Junior Nate Clow also made an impact on the mound for the Trojans, throwing 2.2 shutout innings while allowing one hit, with one walk and two strikeouts.

At the plate, the Trojans were led by freshman Jacob Galloway, who went 3-for-5 on the day with a double and two RBI. Freshman Bryce Grudzielanek put together a noteworthy effort as well, going 1-for-2 with three walks and two RBI. Senior Adrian Colon-Rosado also helped out for USC, putting together two hits in five trips to the plate while adding two RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Trojans jumped out of the gates with six runs in the second inning, getting a two-run single off the bat of senior Johnny Olmstead and a two-run single from Grudzielanek in the frame.

After the Ducks got a run back in the top of the fourth, the USC offense exploded for four more runs in the bottom half of the inning, highlighted by a two-run double off the bat of Galloway, which brought the score to 10-1 in favor of the Trojans.

Oregon narrowed USC's lead to 10-3 before the Trojans stretched the advantage to 11-3 in the sixth inning. The Trojans scored once on an RBI single off the bat of Colon-Rosado. Oregon put one run on the scoreboard before the game was over, but USC still coasted to the 11-4 win.
