MOC - DeLorean DMC-12 V2

DeLorean DMC-12 V2 (8-wide Speed Champions style)



This is a new version of the standard DeLorean DMC-12. I recently made a fully new version of the DeLorean Time Machine, so I wanted to update the standard DMC-12 as well. The main new feature is the opening doors, they are the same as on the Time Machine. The exterior has also been reworked, however it's not exactly the same as the Time Machine. I realized that the same updates won't work for the standard car the same way as the time travel gear makes the appearance a bit different.


There are some added details for the bumpers and the side sills, and the rear hatch is fully reworked to a studless design in the same style as the new Time Machine. The structure is fully revised and despite the lack of support from the opening doors, the chassis is actually quite rigid and sturdy enough for normal handling. Interior also has a bit more room for the figures so they are easier to install. 



The doors are a bit of a compromise between stability and looks, they are otherwise sturdy but the connection to the hinge is not the strongest. However, when opened a bit more carefully from the 'handle', they work well for posing the car in different configurations (as shown in the DeLorean Time Machine introduction video).



There is a printable sticker sheet included with the DMC logos for the front and back. The headlight also has an optional printable decal for the inner side of the tile, which I feel enhances the look.
