Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya or Mumbai Museum is located in Colaba. Next to the museum is the Jehangir Art Gallery. It's not a very big museum and a large portion of the museum is donated by the TATA family. One can easily see the museum in around 3 hours.
The museum is divided in multiple sections.
The audio guide is pretty useless as it covers only a handful of artefacts. Must visit if you're in Mumbai.

Got some really nice paintings from Rhythm Art. The gallery owner was very knowledgeable and helpful, I'd recommend you ask for him when you visit. His name is Mr. Bhavya Gala, young guy but very humble and motivated. Will definitely return here on my next visit to India. Good Luck

For art lovers it is a nice place. The museum has four sections. Two galleries on the ground floor and two on top. First one spot the portrait of Pilaji Jadhavrao, the brave Maratha. In the other spot, there are oil lamps and jewellery which were used to adorn domestic animals in ancient period. There is a huge collection of cooking vessel and lanterns placed at the front yard. The left gallery features a collection of ancient board games such as Ludo, and decorative storage boxes made of brass, copper, iron and wood. It also display variety of dhotis, turbans and walking sticks.
On the first floor of the gallery we can see bullock carts and a doli used by king and queen .
