The Artist's Way: 25th Anniversary Edition Audible Audiobook – Unabridged

4.7 4.7 out of 5 stars 11,567 ratings

"Without The Artist's Way, there would have been no Eat Pray Love.” (Elizabeth Gilbert)

The Artist’s Way is the seminal book on the subject of creativity. An international best seller, millions of fans have found it to be an invaluable guide to living the artist’s life. Still as vital today - or perhaps even more so - than it was when it was first published one decade ago, it is a powerfully provocative and inspiring work. In a new introduction to the book, Julia Cameron reflects upon the impact of The Artist’s Way and describes the work she has done during the last decade and the new insights into the creative process that she has gained. Updated and expanded, this anniversary edition reframes The Artist’s Way for a new century.

A nice book for artists struggling to seek meaning in higher creativity.
4 Stars
A nice book for artists struggling to seek meaning in higher creativity.
“The Artist’s Way: 30th Anniversary Ed” is a nice book about art and the artist experience. Not a book on drawing, but more about how to get in touch with the artistic side and understanding what it takes to be an artist. This books takes the reader on a 12 week workshop with exercises in critical and creative thinking that explore the artist life for help in opening up the artist inside. It reviews what it takes to be creative and the connection to the spiritual path. Not what I expected, but I am still pleased with the book. Easy read. If you are not spiritual and an artist, I am not sure it is the read you would want. I particularly like the check-ins. This is a nice book for artists looking to understand their art and push it to a path of spiritual creativity.

Are you feeling stuck -- creatively? Then this is the book for you. I had heard so many recommendations about this book. At one point, it seemed like every podcast, speaker or article I read seemed to somehow refer back to this resource. So of course, I had to try it.

There's a reason this book is in it's 30th Anniversary edition - it works and inspires. Whether you're any type of artist or just someone trying to re-ignite your creative thinking, I highly recommend you get this book. It helps you to approach and overcome any creative block you may have (be that writer's block or otherwise). The book takes you through a variety of writing and reflection activities that get you thinking in different ways and are inspiring.

A book I will surely keep in our permanent collection and go back to re-read and re-do the exercises.

Still working through this, it’s a 12 week course/ program.
Lots of people credit the Artist Way with finding their purpose, passion and success. I am enjoying the morning pages ( do yourself a favor and buy a new journal while you’re here) the Artist dates are cool as well.
The book has a fine quality feel to it. Yet it’s also a workbook. Large margins if you like to annotate in your books ect.

This is a timeless book about nurturing your creativity. The copy I have is the 30th Anniversary Edition. It's a twelve-week class that you can do alone or in a group. The main activities are to write three free writing pages every morning and once a week have a play date. I'm about halfway through the class and already sharing some of the activities with a writing class I teach. This book is for all kinds of creative people whether you're a dancer, musician, writer, or artist.

Loving what this book has done for my life. I am following it to a T and have enjoyed the process very much. I’d recommend this to artsy folk and “non-creatives” alike. Beyond the book you’ll need a pen and something to write with. It’s cheap therapy and you can do it over and over again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Life changing

I bought this edition as the old copy I had was falling apart. This one is epic. It's so satisfying to hold, and has loads of space for notes. Honestly, this would make a great gift for a writer 😉 As for the content it is as life changing as it promises. Despite being written ages ago it is up to speed with all the latest manifestation trends. I have to be a bit careful to "translate" the God stuff into my own version of spirituality. That would be my only caveat, I would only recommend it to someone who is comfortable with their spirituality and aware that we are all on individual spirit quests.
