Coming back home to the city of Polaris after many years also leads to Mary reuniting with her mother (Lynne Griffin) and her old flame Luke Jessup (Ivan Sergei). A simple attempt to help out her sick father soon becomes a timely reminder of the life Mary left behind.
And although Mary now has a successful business in New York City, as well as a boyfriend -- Grant Foley (Tobias Mehler) -- being back home with her parents, Luke and those hilariously empty-headed elves of Santa starts to pull at Mary's heart strings. Soon, Mary realizes that before she can save Christmas, Christmas may need to save her.
I bought this movie and its sequel in December of 2010, with only the intention of updating my Christmas movie collection of that time. I did not expect to fall in love with this movie, nor for it to become a must-see every Christmas season since then.
This movie has a great story, funny moments, romance, holiday fun and magical scenery (honestly it's worth watching this movie just to see the city of Polaris!).
So if you are looking for a new movie to add to your Christmas collection, I highly recommend this one!

Jenny McCarthy plays (800-year-old) Santa Claus's daughter that goes by the [abbreviated]
name of Mary Cla's. There is no mention of HER age, but with parents' ages approaching one
thousand, she's probably [what?] 400 herself.
Well, anyway, THAT said, being IN a fantasy-mode, living on another continent, I found
this movie to be a refreshing twist on a familiar plot: "Great God! Santa is missing/sick/
amnesiastic."
Where was I?
Oh yeah, I'm an old guy living in Bavaria.
I didn't recognize anyone's face but GEORGE "Norm!" WENDT from TV's CHEERS.
A lot of money was spent on set design, location shots, and make up... and, it shows.
George's Santa wig looks great. His beard looks real as well, maybe TOO real. Less than MY ideal, more like the "real" MIRACLE ON 34th STREET' one.
There are PLENTY of reviews, on this site, for this movie.
My review is probably repetative, but I'll echo the fact that this is a family movie without one
single child on-screen, but DOES have plenty of child-like elves that even Scrooge would find
entertaining for comic-relief.
I bought this, and put it into a double disc box with the sequel (which has only Jenny McCarthy
and three elves returning to repeat their roles). Different boyfriend, Santa, etc.
Since I'm a rather "tall and rotund" fellow myself --- my wife is a foot shorter --- I found the most interesting, new, character in SANTA BABY TWO to be the female elf that is probably about 4'10"... and just TOO "hot" for The North Pole!
Be a completist and buy BOTH, but the original is best!
" N-o-r-m-! "
The sequel is available, seperately as listed:

Je le recommande pour les enfants!
Will Mary's new ideas and her relentless drive for efficiency save Christmas, or will Christmas need to save her first?
Jenny McCarthy plays a great role as Santa's daughter who has forgotten the true meaning of Christmas and then finds it.
