OM coach Igor Tudor announced that he will be leaving the southern club at the end of the current season, but insisted he has enjoyed his time win France and, so far, has no coaching job lined up for next season.

Despite stitching up third place in Ligue 1 Uber Eats and a shot at the Champions League group stage for next season, Igor Tudor has announced that he will be stepping down from his position as head coach of Olympique de Marseille's senior team for 'personal reasons' at the end of the current season.

"We have accepted and respected Igor Tudor's decision not to continue with us after 30 June. On behalf of all the directors, I'd like to thank Igor for the good work he's done with great respect," said club president Pablo Longoria at a press conference on Thursday, ahead of OM's final match of the season, away to Ajaccio on Saturday night.

Tudor: 'I've given 100%'

Longoria was full of praise for the professional, winning culture that the Croat instilled at OM, and so too Tudor was upbeat despite being on the way out after just a single season in charge.

"I've been honoured to spend a year here with the energy of the city and the supporters. I've had a great year. It's been a great experience and I've grown. I'm sure I'll leave the club in a better situation than I found it. I'm proud of it," said the 45-year-old at the same presser.

"I made the decision to leave for personal reasons, and I have no agreement with any other club. I'm not angry with anyone. A lot has happened this year, like at every club. Working here for a year is like working for two or three years at another club. What counts is what I feel inside. And I wanted to share this decision with you. There's no comparison to be made. I've given 100% to OM this year, I've given a lot, I've had a lot of sleepless nights. I've worked with competent people who know the way forward."

Winning record

The Croat oversaw 47 matches of official competition on the OM tech, amassing a record of 27 wins, seven draws and 13 losses and a goal difference of +31.

"There's a famous song that goes: 'Remember only the beautiful things'. I try to pass that on to the players. You have to use things to grow and progress. France was a great experience, with great supporters and great wine too," said Tudor before addressing his footballing impact and legacy at the club. "We played some great football that was very emotional. We've made progress in terms of our work ethic. These are good foundations for the future and I hope that OM will be back where they belong and with trophies."

Tudor's engagement with the club ends on 30 June but this weekend's season closer in Corsica represents his last putting on the OM bench.
