Woodcrest Christian School Reviews

While attending the school it was clear that they lacked any form of racial awareness. They had ambiguous rules that would lead to violations, such as a black student wearing a durag in their classes color be considered gang affiliation, when there are no gang concerns anywhere in the surrounding areas. The staff also openly played favorites with students, allowing some to get away with violations and others would not be allowed. However, the preparation for college through AP courses was well put in there was a distinct lack of variation in clubs.
My sister and I have attended WCS since we were in kindergarten. I am grateful for the opportunity to have grown up in a school community dedicated to welcoming each student onto campus and that upholds the Christian values it teaches. Throughout my twelve years at Woodcrest, I have been challenged academically, relationally, and spiritually, and have been encouraged to face those challenges by the friends and staff I've had the chance to meet. Keep in mind that, though small class sizes and a small campus allow for a tight knit community, they can, at times, lead to feelings of monotony, and know that, though the classes at Woodcrest are well-taught, they can become overwhelming and the variety of classes to choose from each year is limited.
Woodcrest Christian School stands out among other schools in its academic rigor, heavy encouragement of student involvement in school activities, and Christian-based values. I appreciate how its staff take nothing lightly or for granted, doing their best to use class time as efficiently as possible. Furthermore, poor student behavior is met with swift disciplinary action, which is an aid to the flow of day-to-day school life and events. The best part of my experience at Woodcrest Christian has to be the relationships I have found and fostered with both students and staff. Its teachers really take the time to pour into students' lives, wanting to know them more as individuals (and in many cases, fellow Christians), rather than simply students. Woodcrest, being a small private school, is teeming with opportunities to get to know one's instructors and fellow classmates. I will forever appreciate the school's clear, down-to-earth emphasis of the importance of both academics and community.
