We loved our two days at the Normandy. This quiet hotel is tucked on a side street off Connecticut Avenue in a neighborhood surrounded by gorgeous old buildings, many of them now embassies. About 10 minutes by foot from Dupont Circle (Metro), there is also a Metrobus (#42) that drops you across the street and runs from Chinatown to Adams Morgan and more—so convenient after a play at the Shakespeare Theater, almost door-to-door service. Our room was not large, but was clean and comfortable, and everyone we encountered was pleasant, welcoming and professional. Breakfast is available at an extra cost, but coffee and juice are free. We bought a few breakfast things at the market around the corner as there is a small fridge in the room. We happened to come back around 5 p.m. one…
Hotel rooms are good size and very clean. Bathroom is modern. Beds are very comfortable. I liked coffee machine a lot. There is continental breakfast every morning but i sleapt over. Dupont circle is great location with tons of restaurants and shopping. I would come back again.
Excellent customer service. Clean room, good coffee machine. A bit out of the way, but a was a very good value for me. The cost of the Uber still saved me money as opposed to something closer to the Capital.
Staff who greeted us were lovely, very welcoming. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble and they asked after our previous stay in Boston where we had come on from and offered to help sort out a small issue we had there. The room was great, comfortable beds, lovely bathroom and clean. Everything we could have asked for. Very nice experience. If I was in DC again I wouldn't hesitate to stay here in future.
I like the staff they were very nice, however it can't make up for too nights in a steaming hot room because air conditioner in our room was broken. They brought up one small, which only helped a small bit.
The room was beautiful, clean and cozy! Very happy with our choice to stay there. The bathroom was a dream. Nothing better than having you own privacy. Did not listen to any of the others guests. Very quiet and private.
Fantastic hotel located close to the bustling Dupont Circle. Room was large with a comfortable queen bed. All staff members were friendly and always went out of their way to greet you and help wherever they could, even when I was making crazy requests. A partnership with the local health club is also a great convenience! I was sad to check out, and would happily stay there again.
What a little undiscovered gem. Wonderful staff. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Room was comfortable, clean, and quiet. Great location. Walking distance to wonderful restaurants and shopping. Looking forward to my next visit.
My husband, puppy and I stayed at Normandy Hotel over Labor Day weekend. We felt welcomed, comfortable and taken care of the entire time. The only "complaint" we had was that the carpet was a bit grungy and should probably be replaced. Otherwise, a really quaint place with gorgeous wallpaper and very clean.
Stayed for two nights as part of a greater trip, I'll admit we weren't expecting much more than a room. Boy were we wrong! The staff were beyond anything I'd expect from them, friendly, funny, professional and courteous no matter the hour. Complimentary wine and cheese is offered on some evenings at 5pm, this became one of the highlights of DC! One of the staff even baked some cookies for the guests in the lobby, let me say that again, "THEY BAKED US COOKIES". A light but wholesome breakfast is offered at modest charge, after which we checked out, feeling rested, looked after and entirely ready to face the day. Walking distance to the White House, great aesthetic and a warm welcome, perfection!
