      Pros

Emmanuel has some really genuine people. I really mean that the people are the best part about this college in a good way. Yes, there are a few duds (as there are with any company), but a majority of people here are good. Coworkers ask about sick family members and show interest in each other's well-being. Friends are often made among coworkers. If you have the right supervisor, your hours can be extremely flexible if within reason. The best part of working for this college is being a part of it's mission. It is for sure not perfect, but it's outreach to it's students do change lives. Even if it's only one student that is brought to Christ that year, it's worth it. A lot of students end up looking up to various faculty and staff members. There are a lot of great opportunities to minister and pour into these kids. The benefits are not bad. You have free access to the fitness center and pool and are able to attend the games for free. The health insurance is super confusing and at first glance, is awful. But, when you put in the work to understand it, you can really make it work for you and it turns out to be a not-so-bad plan. Because they have almost every team under the sun, you have access to fun things, like the bowling alley. Diversity here has not always been great. But they have gotten better with hiring more diversely. Overall, a recommendation to work here would be dependent on the person. Some people can really thrive here, and some will not be able to.

      Cons

Communication. Sometimes I'm not sure if the people here has ever heard of the word, to be honest. A lot of times the people that need to know something are the last to know it, and sometimes by the time they hear it, it is either extremely short notice or too late. There also isn't a lot of work-life balance. Part of this is due to understaffing where some departments only have one or two people in the department, and another part is just pure lack of consideration. Often times employees need to work overtime to finish or stay caught up, but they are not allowed to receive overtime pay. So the employee either doesn't finish the job that day, or they work for free. As I said above, the people are the best part of this college, but they are also a big downfall to it. This place can get pretty toxic pretty quickly. Some supervisors have favorites and others can be absent. It's rare when someone takes accountability for themselves or hold others accountable. Blame often gets passed around. Lastly, there are not a lot of opportunities for growth. Sometimes when someone quits, they don't refill the role. Instead, the job duties get distributed and is added onto the responsibilities of others, without an increase in pay (which is already low for the industry to start with) or job title. And sometimes, they purposefully do not change your job title to match your responsibilities because that would require them to increase your pay. Overall, a recommendation to work here would be dependent on the person. Some people can really thrive here, and some will not be able to.

          Marketing Operations Coordinator

I have an interview with the hiring manager next week for a role I NEED to land. What interview tips have worked for you in the current job market? What doesn’t work? Do you use ChatGPT to create answers to interview questions? I’d appreciate any advice. Thanks!

          Architectural Designer

It was a long ago that I got an interview with an architectural magazine as a content creator on social, and one question was what would I do as an example to capture more followers. I answered and I didn’t got hired anyways. Now I check their insta and see they actually used my idea and I can tell it from the time that I got interviewed and the time they reshaped their socials.. my idea wasn’t superb genius but okay, in any case I can tell they interview ppl bcs they are out of creative ideas?
