Good programs, especially in academics, sports, and music. However, administration is a mess and they don’t know how to communicate amongst each other. The teachers are informed about almost nothing. Standardized test? The teachers had no idea until the students told them in class the day before that they wouldn’t be in class.
Bullying is everywhere. The white “jock” boys do a lot of things without consequence that, if anybody else did them, would warrant a detention. All the teachers just accept that they’ll have to deal with these boys. They disrupt classes, bully people a lot, and even vandalize the school (sometimes quite serious damage, too). They also have bad personal hygiene.
We also have the middle school in our building currently, as their building had to be evacuated due to a mold issue (bad administration). The district is great at upsetting taxpayers and somehow still has more money for new sports fields than an inhabitable building.

Being a senior at Valley, I have only had great experiences there. Whether that be with the teachers, other students or our school spirit. I feel as though all teachers are so approachable. Even if I've never had that teacher for a class, I know that I can always talk to them if I ever need to. As I continue to make me steps into my college career, I genuinely feel very ready for this next step in my life. My guidance counselor in particular has been very helpful. If I have any questions regarding the college applications, she will sit down with me and fully explain everything that I had questions about. I also feel like academically I am ready for college. All of my teachers have prepared me very well and I am ready to move on. Really thinking about this, I do not think that I would change anything about Valley. I think that they give us the right amount of freedom, and allow us with times to meet up with teachers throughout the day like flex and study halls.
I am a senior at Valley Regional and have had an excellent academic, social, and athletic experience. The IB program has been especially great, providing a curriculum and environment that fostered my intellectual curiosity and allowed me to enter my dream college.
