If you visit Lincoln castle you must have a ground tour. Our tour guide Laura, made the trip. She was so knowledgeable and entertaining. Thank you

This isn’t the biggest aviation museum we’ve been to by any means. It doesn’t have the most planes or displays, but what you do have here is a sense of history and a real connection to real people the events that happened here and the sacrifices that were made. You are not just supporting the maintenance and restoration of the planes and vehicles that they have here, those fully restored and those that are work in progress, but also keeping alive the memory of those that lived and died from this airfield. The dedicated chapel on the grounds is a perfect testament to that and not something I have seen elsewhere. Highly recommended.

Interesting Exposition of About 150 years of Lincolnshire Life.

Free admission and parking (but only about 20 spaces).

Wonderful grounds to explore , we did see deer’s in the distance but the gardens are well worth a look absolutely stunning. The house is beautiful and as always with the NT the tea room and shop are worth a look .

A visit to Rutland is definitely not to be without a trip just over the border into Lincolnshire to visit Burghley House and Garden. It's situated just a mile away from the wonderful town of Stamford.
Everything about our visit to Burghley was fantastic. The house is probably the best we've seen, so much history, amazing paintings and ceilings, it just takes your breath away. All the staff were lovely too. The Orangery restaurant was a good stop off before we continued into the gardens....
Where do I start with these..... Just brilliant!!!!
The sensory, surprise gardens are beautifully thought and so much fun for all ages. Continue to the sculpture trail.... WOW! So many to find hidden amongst the trees, woodland, flowers and up towards the lake. The adventure playground is also amazing and suitable for ages 3 to 12 I'd say.
Visiting here for the countryside fair on the Monday and returning again to do the rest has been the best money spent in a long time. Very reasonable price and free to park!
    Well done the Burghley Team!

Saw all animals up close. Clean and tidy zoo. Reasonable price. Excellent selection of birds. Restaurant offers small range of food and very high prices so bring a picnic. Toilet facilities also rather poor.

We visited as a family of 8 (6 adults and 2 kids). We initially came to visit the market but the kids wanted to visit the theme park. The kids are 9 and 12 and have very different tastes. Our 9 year went on some of the children’s rides as she was tall enough to ride alone. Whereas the 12 year old played the arcade games. We didn’t buy wristbands but loaded up the i-card which was easy to do. The rides we used were the caterpillar coaster, tree top clim, bizzy dizzy beez, glow worm and the balloons. The wait time for most of the rides was short however we waited over 40 mins for her to go on the tree top climb. We understood they need to fit harnesses but there was a lot of time when the climb was not full yet children were left stood waiting. Our 12 year had a great time in the arcade and played most of the games even using his own money to top us his card. The market had a good selection for stalls and some stalls had signs saying that children under 18 needed to visit the stall with an adult due to the nature of what they sell. This was great to see. Outside there are some fairground style games such as hook a duck. These do not take the I-card and are very expensive at £5 for one go to with a pose worth around £2-£3. The hair breading and glitter tattoos are also a little pricey. The small cafe inside fantasy island is reasonably priced and offers drinks and snacks to keep everyone going. Overall we could have spent longer at the park but it’s was a quick trip but overall we enjoyed it.

I recently visited the Mablethorpe Seal Sanctuary and Wildlife Centre whilst on a long weekend with my family at the beginning of May 2024. I found this a wonderful place and a centre that championed animal welfare and rescue, plus educates you on said animals and the ancient natural history of the local and surrounding areas. I was amazed by the rescue stories and successes, as well as the care for the animals, which I felt was on par, if not better than a larger animal collection I previously worked for in London.
In addition, the cafeteria was very well priced and incredibly clean, as was the entire sanctuary. The price of admission was very affordable, especially when you think of all the grand work they are doing.
If you are in the Mablethorpe area, I would highly recommend a visit.

Really interesting, but probably better on a fine day as the roof is open for views which are spectacular. We even had a fly past from Coningsby. Lots of room for children to play on the grass and a great place to have a picnic. Lots of stairs so not suitable for everyone

Great walks and wild life with help from the wardens who are walking round if you need information. Fantastic cafe to finish the visit.

Excellent place to visit and accessible for scooter users. I only went because my husband wanted to go, I thought I'd be bored. How wrong could I be! I thoroughly enjoyed myself. There was so many interesting things to see and I even got to climb up onto Tom the ancient steam engine. The staff (of volunteers) were very friendly, chatty and knowledgeable, making the whole experience even more interesting. Afterwards we enjoyed a extremely tasty cheese burger in the cafe, I just wished I'd had room for a slice of the rather delicious looking cakes they had on offer. All together a great day out

It was raining when we arrived, so a visit indoors was the obvious start.
The welcome staff did just that. The unprepossessing entrance gives into one end of a hall, and we were made welcome with the sensation of visiting, say, an elderly relative for the first time. We didn't know each other, yet, but were nevertheless pleased to see each other.
The audio tour was explained, a little of the background to the Hall and ownership given and we were given free rein to wander around. My query about the table was answered fully and completely, and led to more explanation about carvings, which had a distinctly Gibbons-esque quality from a distance, but were made by a former owner.

The table, it turned out, was recent, and from a single fallen oak, yielding a one piece top around 6 metres in length. The whole with cunning breadboard ends and pleasantly chunky underframe on turned pillars.

The rest of the Hall is full of interest, and made the more so by the audio introduction to each room being made by the owners Claire and James, with their comments and reminiscences 'We used to roller skate in this room' lends a very human level of appreciation totally missing from many similar locations. Knowledgable and approachable room stewards who were happy to explain and discuss details.

The rain stopped, we toured the exceptionally soggy formal gardens, which are really worth another visit when the season has moved on and the plantings are flourishing.

This is our 3rd visit to Hardy’s.
We have been before in May 2022 & May 2023.
As our son is now 3, he was able to really enjoy the ‘football golf’ as he called it. Just pay a £1 for a football which is refundable upon return in the gift shop. Nice addition for him to do, would recommend!
The staff were friendly & always there is needed.
The animals are clearly well looked after which is important to us when visiting a hobby farm.

The baby goats were roaming around which was lovely to see.

I cannot recommend this place enough, yes it can work out pricey if paying for a large family but you can spend a whole day there with the animals, different timed activities such as egg collecting, various animal petting, tractor ride & much more, as well as the outdoor & indoor play areas, so works out a great deal. You also don’t have to buy food there & they have plenty of picnic area’s including covered & uncovered seating areas for that.
    Toilets are always clean.
Handwashing stations near animal petting / feeding areas.

    Overall, another great day out.
