James D. Campbell

Dec. 17, 1952 – May 3, 2024

James D. Campbell, 71, Duncansville, died at home Friday after an extended illness. He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late Samuel J. Campbell and Dorothy K. (Imler) Caplan. He married Robin L. Hoenstine on Aug. 28, 1971, in Hollidaysburg.

Surviving is his wife, Robin; three children: James D. Campbell II (Elizabeth Ann), Misty Harvey (Gene) and Timothy M. Campbell (Ami); eight grandchildren: Megan Grissinger (Mike), Kara Bailey (Caden), Taylor Campbell, Gina Ott (Justin), Kailey Smith (Kevin), Kyla Campbell, Trina Campbell and Mason Campbell; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ronald J. Campbell.

Jim was a 1971 graduate of Hollidaysburg Area High School. He retired from the railroad after 38 years, where he worked as an electrician and crane operator. He was a member of Carson Valley Church.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, playing pinochle and spending time with family and friends.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2024, and from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, all at Carson Valley Church. Interment will take place at New Canoe Creek Cemetery.
