This is a fairly new gondola that runs between the Whistler and Blackcomb ski mountains.
Its 4.4 kms or 2.73 miles between the stations, takes 11 minutes and 1 cabin arrives every 49 seconds at each station.
There are glassed bottom gondolas on the system and you can line up for these at designated places in the gondola building. There is a different line up area for the standard gondola's.
The views are amazing over the ski fields and the mountains and also over the valley below are excellent.
Its a very smooth ride and well worth taking.
This is included in your mountain Epic One Pass / lift ticket.
You can get a ticket for going up the mountain and crossing in the gondola for a touristy view even if you're not skiing or boarding. This was actually pretty popular when I was there as a lot of people come up to see the mountains.
Its a feat of engineering that is well worth experiencing.

This was a nice little reprieve from the tourist trap town of Whistler. It’s about 20 kms away and when we were there it was very quiet and peaceful. The trails are not treacherous and the views and smells of nature are exactly what you expect to see in British Columbia.
I could’ve stayed here all day. There was no entry fee when we were there, not sure if that’s the norm.
If you’re in Whistler take a break here.

Friendly folks at the passivhaus (got lessons and rentals there too) and a beautiful day — mostly went around Lost Lake because we are beginners but lessons made it easy and fun.

We did not ski but still enjoyed our ride on the Whistler Village gondola to Whistler mountain very much. Even though the peak-to-peak gondola connecting to Blackcomb mountain had just closed one day before! The views were fantastic and the cappuccino at the Roundhouse lodge eas great.

Accidentally ended up at Joffre Lake, didn't expect the snow to be so thick. Walking on the icy lake surface for the first time, I couldn't help but worry about it cracking beneath me. The weather was nice, and we could even see distant blue glaciers. Looking forward to hiking here after the snow melts.

A native person gave us a tour of the centre after we viewed a feature film of the history of the early peoples of the area. She was excellent with explanations of culture and history. The museum has some significant pieces of workmanship and is very well laid out.

The easy/better way to get to the train wreck is to turn off Hwy 99 at Cheakamus Lake Rd then go right on Legacy Way and turn right onto Janes Lake Rd to either parking lot. Go to sign for Train wreck follow trail & sign. Go over suspension bridge and your there.

The Audain provides an oasis of quiet in the bustle of the Whistler ski resort. Its gorgeous building houses an eclectic collection of art by First Nations as well as contemporary modern art. Very nicely presented in beautiful light. I loved in particular the paintings by Emily Carr.

Loved all aspects of this trail as a hiker and runner.
However one tiny Downsideto tranquility is the deluge of bikes. Fast moving electric bikes, crazy youths on mountain bikes and unsteady tourists cycling for first time in their lives.
All of the above, going too fast, churning up dust, driving crazy and not being respectful to other cyclists and walkers.
To avoid the deluge, go out early. Running at 0630 am no cyclist at all, walking after 10am they seem to come from every direction down from varòus tracks taking out less able walkers.
