The first batch of financial assistance given from May 15-18 covers 2,098 beneficiaries from six public elementary schools.

The distribution will be until May 21.

“Hindi naman po ganoong kalakihan ang ibibigay po ng lokal na pamahalaan ngunit kahit papaano po sana makatulong ito sa inyong mga gastusin at higit sa lahat, sana ito po’y maging motibasyon natin na lalo pa nating pagbutihin ang ating pag-aaral sa susunod na school year (The amount that the local government will give is not that much, but at least it will help with your expenses and above all, I hope that it will be our motivation to improve our studies even more next school year),” Mayor Weslie “Wes” Gatchalian said.

The cash incentive is under Ordinance No. 551, Series of 2019, and Ordinance No. 1110, Series of 2023 entitled “An ordinance granting financial assistance to every graduating elementary and senior high school students and additional financial grant to the top five (5) honor students in all public schools in Valenzuela City.”

There will be an additional financial grant to the top five honor students aside from the initial P1,500 educational incentive to acknowledge their academic achievements throughout the school year.

An additional P1,500 cash is granted to Top 1 honor students, P1,000 to Top 2 honor students, and P500 for Top 3, 4, and 5 honor students, respectively.
