Break My Heart Myself Lyrics
Hello, my name is Stevie
Actually, I'm lying, it's really Bebe
It's the meds, they make me really sleepy
Klonopin, my friend, yeah, she numbs the feeling
My doctor upped my dosage
My mom felt bad, so she sent me roses
Without it, I feel really hopeless
And 5.7 of Americans know it
[Pre-Chorus]
Wo-oo-oh, I'm living and I'm dreaming
Trying to stay even, oh
[Chorus]
No, I don't need your help
To make me sick, to make me ill
I don't need anybody else
'Cause I can break my heart myself
I don't need your help
Getting off of this carousel
I don't need anybody else
'Cause I can break my heart myself
[Verse 2]
Today went really well
I didn't wake up in a panic spell
It was fine, even though I fell
Deeper and deeper into a manic hell (Hahahahaha)
Wo-oo-oh, I'm living and I'm dreaming
Trying to stay even, oh (No)
Wo-oo-oh, I'm draining for no reason
Apologize, no feelings, oh
[Chorus]
No, I don't need your help
To make me sick, to make me ill
I don't need anybody else
'Cause I can break my heart myself
I don't need your help
Getting off of this carousel
I don't need anybody else
'Cause I can break my heart myself
[Bridge]
Woo-hoo, woo-hoo, woo-hoo
'Cause I can break my heart myself
There's a jumper on
Hollywood and the 101
And I'm scared, I could be that one
But I'm not (No)
Woo-hoo, woo-hoo, woo-hoo
'Cause I can break my heart myself
I don't need your help
To make me sick, to make me ill
I don't need anybody else
'Cause I can break my heart myself
I don't need your help
Getting off of this carousel
I don't need anybody else
'Cause I can break my heart myself
About
“Break My Heart Myself” is the first track from Bebe Rexha’s highly anticipated second studio album, Better Mistakes. The song was originally recorded and intended to be the lead single, but ultimately “Baby, I’m Jealous (feat. Doja Cat)” ended up taking its place.
Bebe first played a snippet of the first verse to the chorus on Instagram Live on April 5, 2020. During the VIP Happiness Begins Tour: Listening Party, Bebe played a plethora of songs in full that hadn’t yet been released, including “Break My Heart Myself”.
On October 30, 2020 Bebe posted a picture to social media dressed as the fictional character, Poison Ivy, with the caption as a pun, teasing lyrics from the first verse saying “Hello, my name is Ivy.”

I was told by a doctor that I was bipolar, and my mental health is something that I’ve struggled with. So I wanted to write a song about it, about how we can be our own worst enemies. Whether it’s a relationship or a friend or an outsider, it’s saying, like, ‘Hey, world. I’ve broken my heart myself with my mental health. I’ve broken my own heart a million times and there’s nobody else that can come and break my heart more than I already have, so don’t even waste my time.’
