Bullard High School Reviews
Rating 3.52 out of 5 436 reviews
My overall experience with Bullard has been beneficial, yet horrifying. I transferred to the school my junior year in 2022. I initially transferred to Bullard High School to be enrolled in the dual enrollment step-up HBCU course. This class allows students to be in college and high school at the same time and they will graduate with 10 college credits. Opportunity and academic wise. Bullard has amazing resources and programs that benefit students. For example, I have very bad vision so I am getting accommodations with the 504 and IEP plan which give me what I need to learn and see better. This school has given me extraordinary opportunities to work and become successful in life and school. Although Bullard has amazing resources, clubs, and classes, there are racial issues and unfair treatment among minority students. Staff treat students of color differently, which is the main thing that needs to change at Bullard. The racial biases and Microaggressions Have gone too far.
There is a lot of controversy when it comes to Bullard High. The face of our school has been diminished throughout the years, especially through incidents via social media. Bullard also has a tendency to "cover up" instead of taking accountability for their wrongdoings. However, despite Bullard's lack of social unity, their academic field is one of a kind. They provide multiple career program opportunities for students, allowing them to gain knowledge in subjects that may interest them in the future. As for how I personally feel about Bullard High, I do not enjoy the school. My goals and my drive comes before my social aspect, and because of this, I deem Bullard High as tolerable. However, I do not appreciate the staff, as they have treated me, along with multiple students with disrespect. I do not appreciate the inability of feeling safe. This school could be so much more welcoming if staff treated students like the upcoming adults that they are.
I think I've had a good experience here. Freshman year was covid so I really have only been on campus for 3 years. Some facilities like the south locker room and some of the bathrooms are very old and could use fixing. There are some really good teachers here. The best part of my experience was just hanging out with friends in class and meeting new people.
