Unable to forget her first love, Félicité, a simple and kind maid, devotes herself completely to her new master, Mathilde Aubain. As the passing of time doesn't heal her wounds, she gives love to all those who surround her: Mathilde's children, her nephew Victor. But fate seems to always deny her from any love in return. Still she tries to find someone who'll accept her unconditional love.

blow by blow suffering throughout, Un Coeur Simple, a Flaubert short story, told of resilience and survival, of spiritual salvation amidst ridicule and poverty at the door of genuine kindness and love. quite moving if not for all the unfortunate circumstances the protagonist must deal with that there was no room to breathe. this proved how shitty life could get—you know, just like in real life; and just like our mundane lives where nothing significant seems to ever happen, this film has reflected that one's existence however minuscule has brought some influence on another's and doing good is always a good present to one's self at death's comfortable home.
A real lover's nature is LOVE itself...
This is one of the reasons WHY I feel heartbroken all the time...
