Ryan K Entertaining, self-referential comedy with fun musical numbers. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend season 1 has memorable characters that undergo remarkable character development throughout the season. The writing is perhaps not the most realistic, but it is not too far removed from reality and many of the scenes feel believable. The musical numbers are comedic, and many of them parody songs from popular musicals. I enjoyed watching season 1 of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and am looking forward to season 2. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/30/23 Full Review maria p The best thing to ever happen on television. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member I love this show, but it can be so hard to watch sometimes. I nearly quit two episodes in, but thankfully some friends told me I needed to give it another shot, and I'm SO glad I did. It's one of the single most brilliant shows I've ever seen, and it's amazing that they got to finish all 4 seasons despite the low ratings (but high reviews). My advice -- commit to watching through episode 9 and the party bus. If you make it through that one, you'll have an understanding of how Rebecca Bunch grows and changes. Her character (and ALL the characters) develop so much over the four seasons. She changes them, they change her, and she works to improve herself, and the things to watch that are annoying, painful, or awkward get put under the microscope and deconstructed, later becoming very heart opening. At times the plot is campy and over the top ridiculous, and other times it hits a little too close to home, hence the feelings of discomfort. Be prepared to unpack this show with your therapist. It's a wild ride. Many thanks to the talented actors and writers, and to the CW for bringing this work of art into being. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member I had to get to the end of the first chapter to understand CXG was not another lame misogynistic fantasy but a genius creation. I love the whole show, event when I get the cringe projecting on the character's worst actions, even when the story slows down on 4th season. I discovered the show during the first lockdown and It really made my life better! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Absolutely hilarious show! I love this so much aha Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review steve d I just find the entire show uncomfortable. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
