DENVER – The University of Denver men's soccer program will play eight non-conference opponents in last season's RPI top-100, including three of the top five programs from a year ago, head coach Jamie Franks announced with the rest of his 2022 schedule on Friday.

Denver's match-ups with the top-five include a trip to [4] Georgetown on September 5, a home match against [2] Oregon State on September 20 and a visit to [5] Pittsburgh on October 10.

The Pioneers other matches against the top-100 include home games against [29] Portland and [77] Oral Roberts (Summit League regular season) and visits to [18] Grand Canyon, [30] Maryland, [59] San Diego State and [61] Virginia.

DU opens its regular season at the University of Denver Soccer Stadium on August 25 when Gonzaga returns Denver's trip to the PNW from a year ago. The Pioneers then begin a tough five-game road swing that includes four teams that finished in the top-60 last year. Denver heads to Grand Canyon on August 28 for a rematch of the 2021 NCAA First Round match the Pioneers' won courtesy of a Kengo Ohira first-half winner. The Pioneers then travel to the east coast for matches against Maryland on September 2 and Georgetown on September 5. From the east coast to the west coast, Denver concludes its five-game road swing with matches at UC San Diego on September 9 and San Diego State on September 11.

Following the road trip, Denver hosts three in a row. Portland returns to the Mile High City on September 16 for the first time since 2016. Oregon State will then make its first visit to the Denver campus since the Pioneers second Division I season of 1999 when the Beavers return the Pioneers 2021 trip on September 20.

Denver begins its Summit League title defense on September 24 to end the three-game homestand when the Pioneers welcome Oral Roberts to the University of Denver Soccer Stadium.

In a schedule of swings, the Pioneers will then hit the road for four-straight, two consecutive weekends with Summit League road trips preceding ACC weekday matches. Denver heads to Omaha on October 1 before another trip to Virginia on October 4, a match the Pioneers won in extra time a season ago. DU then visits St. Thomas on October 8 before a Monday night clash with Pitt on October 10.

Denver will close out the regular season with five-straight Summit League matches ahead of the 2022 Summit League Men's Soccer Tournament at the University of Denver Soccer Stadium. In the final five, Denver will host Kansas City (Oct. 15), league newcomers Southern Indiana (Oct. 19) and Western Illinois (Nov. 5) and visit Eastern Illinois (Oct. 29) and another league newcomer in Lindenwood (Nov. 2).
