Agreed and to the best of my knowledge is incredibly hard or expensive to find these days.

Checked on Amazon just out of curiosity. Can confirm... three used options in the $200+ range. This amazes me. Probably should have a rerelease of it at this point. Never seen it, but from the word in this thread it appears to be a jem.

Strange Days with Ralph fiennes

I only remember this movie because I considered Courtney Love a serious actress after The People vs. Larry Flynt and Man on the Moon.

I guess that didn't last very long.

I think she was a very talented actress, she just messed up her life and didn't get offered any roles and then got to the age where there's barely any roles for women

Right there with you. That small window of time, I will admit I had a thing for her (People vs Larry Flynt through release of Celebrity Skin). That quickly faded away too.

I watched this I think last year and surprisingly holds up well. I recall seeing it in the theater too, excited to be 17 at the time.

Me too!!! Why didn't that work out?

She also got back into drugs for a while but I agree being outspoken about Weinstein probably didn't help

My guess would be relapse. The Courtney Love we saw was a cleaned up version compared to the stories that go around.

She also warned people many years ago about meeting Harvey Weinstein in a hotel room, so while I suspect alcohol and/or drugs to have spoiled her shot, there could be something there too.

Those things could totally be true, but also she might have just gotten sick of the whole Hollywood thing and quit. She doesn't seem to really lack money.

Rewatched it last month. Holds up very well.

i don't know if i'd call this movie the best of anything, but it does have a weird charm to it. i'd call it a guilty pleasure because it has a pretty weak story and isn't very well made, but it is a lot of fun. in a shallow and exaggerated way, it manages to sum up the emotional arc of a big party night from multiple points of view.
good enough/10.

I've never heard of this movie and I've heard of every movie

Watch it, It's so fun

Just re-watched it last night. There's just something about it. The sets are actually pretty good, the movie itself is very colorful and lively. I mean, what's not to like?

Are you sure the best New Year's Eve movie isn't The Godfather Part II?

This is easily one of the worst movies ever made.

Nah I've seen Suicide Squad.

I just watched the trailer... it legit looks wretched. Even the trailer is wholly unfunny and tedious.

I only remember this movie being savaged by critics when it came out, so I never saw it.

You're missing out man. It's New year's Eve and I'm watching it right now like I do every New year's Eve!

I'll take Ghostbusters 2 over that. It's an overall better movie, and a better New Years Eve/Day film.

Where can I find this without pirating it?

Saw it in theaters. Didn't care for it. Barely remember it.

Gary Marshall New Year's Eve is better. Fight me.

I’m very late to this convo but thanks for the 200 Cigarettes appreciation, this movie manages to balance so many characters and make them all entertaining
