      Ray Heindorf worked on a variety of projects during his entertainment career. Heindorf worked on a variety of projects during his early entertainment career, including "It's a Great Feeling" (1949) starring Dennis Morgan. In the fifties, Heindorf also worked on "About Face" (1952). Heindorf was nominated for a Music (Scoring of a Musical Picture) Academy Award for "Hollywood Canteen" in 1944 as well as for a Music (Scoring of a Musical Picture) Academy Award for "Up in Arms" in 1944. Heindorf won a Music (Scoring of a Musical Picture) Academy Award for "Yankee Doodle Dandy" in 1942 as well as a Music (Scoring of a Musical Picture) Academy Award for "This Is the Army" in 1943. Heindorf had a number of different projects under his belt in the fifties, including "Auntie Mame" (1958) starring Rosalind Russell, "Home Before Dark" (1958) and "Marjorie Morningstar" with Gene Kelly (1958). His credits also expanded to "No Time For Sergeants" (1958) starring Andy Griffith and "Onionhead" (1958). Heindorf more recently worked on the John Cullum comedy adaptation "1776" (1972). Heindorf passed away in February 1980 at the age of 72.
