Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 123 runs off 57 balls with 13 fours and 7 sixes in his blistering knock.

Indian top-order batter Ruturaj Gaikwad has smashed his maiden international hundred. Rututaj Gaikwad has continued his good run against Australia in the five-match T20I series. India batted first at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati and Gaikwad seized the opportunity with both hands. Gaikwad was unfortunate in the first game in Vishakhapatnam and got run out without facing a delivery. 

Fans went crazy on social media after Ruturaj Gaikwad’s excellent acceleration in the innings. Ruturaj Gaikwad is in top trends on twitter as fans celebrate the milestone of the opener. Ruturaj has been a prolific run-scorer for India in the shortest format since he got the opportunity to represent India two years ago. Gaikwad took the team out of crisis as he went on to play a magical knock against Australia in the third T20I at Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati. 

Ruturaj Gaikwad completed his century in 52 balls. Gaikwad completed his century with a magnificent six over wide long-on against off-spinner Glenn Maxwell. Gaikwad scored the first 21 runs in 21 balls and then took off from there to end his innings with an unbeaten 123 runs in just 57 deliveries. Ruturaj Gaikwad smashed 13 fours and 7 sixes in his knock. He smacked 6 of those 7 big shots in the final three overs.

Ruturaj Gaikwad fetched 27 runs with the bat against Glenn Maxwell in the final over and counting extras Maxwell conceded 30 in the 20th over. Tilak Varma remained unbeaten on 31 runs as he played a great anchor along with Gaikwad in a 141-run stand. Team India smashed 67 runs in the final three overs in one of the most brutal attacking finishes in T20I cricket. 52 out of those 67 came from Gaikwad’s bat. 

Team India lost two early wickets as Yashasvi Jaiswal (6) and Ishan Kishan (0) couldn’t add much to the team’s total. India lost two wickets in 3 overs. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Suryakumar Yadav (39) added 57 runs for the 3rd wicket. Later on, Gaikwad went on to add an unbeaten 141-run stand for the 4th wicket along with Tilak Varma. India posted 222 runs on the board against Australia. India need to defend the target to seal the five-match T20I series.
