I do not like Microsoft Edge in fact it is a Bully

Did not get on with M. Edge (very intrusive ) so decided to go back to Chrome' oh dear Edge was not amused! it tried every thing to make me go back to the fold.

I am not that computer savvy, so while I was trying to keep Edge at bay I must have deleted something essential as everything is not working properly, its slow in fact it works like an old worn out Laptop.

and its not,.

Tried Syst restore but it did not go back far enough, plus Tweaking repair among others.

I am getting old all I want to do is browse the web and use the browser of My choice is that too much to ask ????

-Hi, my name is Claudeir, I'm happy to help you!
Windows+i> apps> default apps> web browser> select Chrome.

If you're having general slowdown issues on your laptop, I need to know specifically what you erased or what you did trying to remove Edge. (Remembering that Edge cannot be uninstalled as it is part of the system)
But you can freely use another browser, just select as default, and if you're getting notifications to use Edge while using Chrome, it's normal, just select that you don't want to see the notification anymore and soon it won't show up, just like when we use it. Edge, there are notifications for us to use Chrome, depending on the website accessed.

To improve your laptop's performance, follow these steps and see if it resolves after each one:

1-Clean startup:
Clean boot is for you to determine if a background program is interfering with your system or to optimize your system load.
For clean boot follow the steps below:
On the Desktop, press the Windows + R keys simultaneously to open Run;
In the Run Menu type msconfig command and click OK to open System Configuration;
On the Services tab, check Hide All Microsoft Services and Click Disable All;
Click Apply and OK;
Restart the computer.
NOTE:This procedure disables all third-party services and programs. You can later, if the problem is solved in this way, enable the programs and services that will start with Windows, selectively, instead of keeping them all disabled. If the problem returns after activating the startup of a specific service or program, the problem is exactly in the startup of this software and it is recommended to remove it.

2-Right click on start, run PowerShell(admin) or Command Prompt(admin)
Copy and paste the following command:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
and press Enter.(Note: This step may take a few minutes to start and up to 30 minutes to complete).
After you see a message saying "The operation completed successfully", copy and paste this command:
sfc /scannow
and press Enter.
Wait for a message that says "Verification 100% complete".
So add this command:
chkdsk /f /r /b
Confirm with "Y" and restart the computer for this last step.

3-Verification with Windows Defender:
Uninstall any third-party anti-malware, many antiviruses have their own removal tool. Visit the Installed Software website for more information. Your system will not be unprotected as Windows has its own security system that automatically enables as soon as you restart your computer.
leave just Windows Defender, then Windows+i, update & security, Windows security, open Windows security, virus and threat protection, scan options, tick and run a full scan, then tick and run an offline scan.
