Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani follows the love story of two mismatched characters. However, the cultural and social differences between them and their families pose an obstacle. The two then come up with the plan of swapping families for a few months to understand each other’s lifestyles and values.
The film enjoyed a solid run for two weeks, despite Hollywood films Oppenheimer and Barbie already dividing box office numbers from the previous week, and big-ticket titles such as Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2, Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2, Rajinikanth’s Jailer, and Chiranjeevi’s Bholaa Shankar, taking up a lot of screens two weeks later.
Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani marks the return of Karan Johar as a feature film director after seven years. His last full length directorial was Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
