What our app can do for you

Easily plan your trip, whether it’s just you or you’re traveling with friends.

Use Trip Planner to plan a trip with friends and family. First, select three flight options, send them to your friends, and then vote on the flight you like most.

Check in for your flight, get your boarding pass, and pay for your bags ahead of time. Plus, more easily navigate the airport with terminal guide.

You can open your boarding pass right from the app home once you’ve checked in.

Change seats, or flights, if something better becomes available.

To change seats, go to your reservation, select “Change seats”, choose the seats you want, and save.

Talk, text or video chat with an agent if you have any questions about your trip.

To chat with an agent, simply go to the more menu and select “Help Center”. Then select “Contact us”.

Watch movies, play games, and pay for inflight snacks and drinks while you’re in the air.

To play games go to the more menu and select “Game Center”. You can play Sudoku, Flight Simulator, Cleared to Land and more.

App FAQs

Just select “Book Flight” at the bottom of your app screen and fill out your origin, destination, dates and everything else as you normally would, and search. The only difference in buying a flight on the app is the billing address for your credit card has to be in the U.S., Guam or Puerto Rico. Otherwise, you’ll be sent to our website to finish your purchase.
If you’re signed in to your MileagePlus® account, you’ll see the option to check in right when you open the app 24 hours before your flight. If you’re not signed in, you can select “Check-in” from the more menu.
You can access boarding passes for United and United Express flights, as well as flights with partner airlines, through our app.
If you’re signed in to your MileagePlus account, you’ll see an option to view your boarding pass right when you open the app after you’ve checked in. If you’re not signed in, you can find your boarding pass in My trips.
Just select “Flight Status” at the bottom of your app screen. If you’re signed in, you’ll see the flight status of all upcoming trips that begin in the next 48 hours. You can also search by flight number or city.
We do have a bag tracking feature on the app that will let you see in real time exactly where your bag is on your journey.
When viewing the details of your upcoming trip, scroll all the way down to the bottom and select the “Change seats” button.
Most flights do offer personal device entertainment while in the air. Once you’ve boarded you should see an option for entertainment right when you open the app. You can also select “Wi-Fi & entertainment” from the more menu.
You can access your wallet in the My United section of the app. This will have all your saved credit cards, any club passes you may have, and travel credits you’ve received.
If you select “Passes and subscriptions” in your wallet, there is an option to purchase a pass. From there you can enter how many passes you’d like to buy and purchase.
