There were 14 of us from Roseburg and 4 from Chiloquin. The kids tubed and 4 adults snowshoed at The Lake. The tubing tickets must be reserved on-line. Most of the students are exchange students and 2 had never experienced snow until their exchange in Oregon. Even with wind and snow at the end of the day, we all had a great time.
Afterwards, we went to the DL Resort Cafe for lunch, which was satisfactory.

This lake has a rich history of being a great trout lake. Had a rough few years but is now coming back strong. This lake is surrounded by some of the best scenery that Oregon has to offer. Plan ahead for this trip as it is somewhat remote by todays standard. Definitely worth visiting.

Beautiful lake, great fishing! Loved the hot showers at Diamond Lake Campground. Southside pizza was delicious & super genetpis portions on their ice cream offerings! Only downfall, the grocery at the resort is outrageously priced, unless it's an emergency I'd recommend trekking into Chemult.

We LOVE the paved bike trail that goes all the way around the lake, about 11 miles miles of heaven! It takes you along the shore of the lake, and then more into the woods, and back along the shore and above the shore. It is an easy to moderately challenging ride.

Our friends from Portland had always wanted to stay at this RV park so we made a special trip to check it out since we all had the day off. So we had two cars with our familys and when we pulled in I noticed the camp host sitting on his golf cart get up and I could kind of notice he was not happy to see us. He asked what we were doing and I simply told him we drove from Portland to check out the RV park and his remark was "you are not going to drive through to look at now turn around and leave". I could tell the busy weekend had gotten to him but I told him there is no reason to be rude we just wanted to look around. He then proceeded to tell me "please leave". I have never been so humiliated in my life in front of my friends and family and we will never stay at this park.

The water was cool in early July, but I still swam around. Plenty of soft sand, and you can stand probably 75 feet from the shore and the water will only be up to your thighs. Boats have a speed limit of 10 mph, so it was very serene. $5 day-use fee.

The National Forest campground (not the resort) was really nice....flush toilets, showers, boat launching, rustic campsites(no hook-ups). We had 4 campsites for a family camp-out--H43-H46. Very secluded. Surprised there were no bugs on Labor Day Week end! Nice paved bike trail around the lake. Good fishing. No real swimming place. Nice for kayaking. Overall...we would return here. Also very close to Crater Lake for a side trip. We had a very fun time!

In early October we rode our bikes around the lake on the 11 mile paved trail. Absolutely beautiful, no bugs, no crowds. Takes about 2 hours.

We just stopped off here which is about 20 mins from Crater Lake.
Nice little stop and it was nice to see locals just fishing and enjoying the peaceful lake.

We used this as a base to check out Crater Lake, and hike around the area. Stayed here with a travel trailer, wife and two dogs. Campground was almost empty when we camped at the end of May. Some of the bathrooms were more dated, whereas the shower facilities were nice and clean (and free). Tons of firewood, and large camping spaces. Abundant room for parking a 27 foot trailer, and great views of the lake. About a 30 minute drive from Crater Lake, and has a pizza place near the exit that has a good selection of beer. Bring bug spray!

Do you need a fishing license to fish at Diamond lake? I know Crater Lake doesn't. Thanks.
