Generation X was born, by broadest definition, between 1961 and 1981, the greatest anti-child cycle in modern history. Nevertheless, we grew up to become the world's most devoted parents: the "workhorse of America." This sub welcomes links, photos, graphics, memoirs, commentaries, stories, etc., for and about Gen-Xers, the 13th Generation of Americans. GenX also translates to many other parts of the world.

Worst plastic surgery job in Hollywood. Whoever did it really butchered the guy.

Well, it’s reconstructive surgery after his boxing career, so it didn’t start from a good place.

Yeah he needed it, too, because he was….not a good boxer.

Exactly. But he thought he was good, and he was fighting people way better than him. And they fucked him up. Rourke was really delusional about the whole thing.

He needed an outlet for his anger, this was a way to channel it and not end up in jail.

He knew he wasn't good, but it was better than rotting in a cell.

Barfly was one of my favorite movies in high school and college. Being sober now, I think Bukowski is very overrated. But I still like some of his writing.

Was a good-looking guy. And is a great actor.

Still have a framed Pope of Greenwich Village poster from 1988. He was our God

I saw Austin Butler on TV last night and thought he would make an amazing young Mickey Rourke in a bio-pic.

I know I remember that Mickey Rourke, then wondered why I didn’t see him then all of a sudden he shows up totally different.

Now he looks like he was in a fire.

My college girlfriend had 9 1/2 Weeks on repeat back in the late 80s. Got so sick of seeing him.

Kept parsing it as Mickey Rooney and puzzled over the thumbnail for way too long.

No. Sorry. And I saw 9 1/2 weeks in the theater. Still didn't get it.

9 1/2 weeks of coercive control
