Been living here in Greenville since college at ECU. The town overall is very dry. There’s absolutely nothing to do and you get bored very quickly. There’s no good food here at all, you literally have to travel out of the town for good food and fun. Has experienced plenty of racism and discrimination here both at ECU and outside of ECU. Job opportunities here are lacking. The only things that are here are banks, fast food, customer service and the medical field. Pay, is absolute trash, if your not in medical field the highest you’ll make is probably high 40,000’s. For this town to be so small, traffic stay backed up. Town overall is toxic and negative and very congested.
Lastly, ECU Health Medical Center is the worst place to work. Terrible work culture and even terrible pay.
Apartments here are outdated and needs lots of renovating to look like we’re in the current year. Majority of there jobs here are toxic and negative in some way. Everyone here is struggling to make ends meet.

Greenville is alright. It’s a quiet college town out in eastern nc. Most people hear are either retired or students, do what you will with that info. There’s not much to do out here. Raleigh is your best bet for activities, luckily it is only about a hour away.
What made me stay in Greenville, NC was the fresh air and quiet neighborhood. However, the locals have a different temperament when approaching out of state/International people. I wish at least in the workplace they would have a class on how to make others feel welcome and put prejudice aside so they they don't come off as xenophobic.
Greenville is a city with a high population of college students. East Carolina University and Pitt Community College Housing are located here and it is cheaper than a lot of other places in NC. Unfortunately, there isn't much to do outside of the bars downtown.
Very nice city. There’s plenty of things to do if you search for them, but of course there is always more things you can do in a bigger city, like Raleigh or Charlotte. I wish we had better public transportation, and the traffic is bad, especially weekdays.
Greenville is a moderately-sized city with a high population of college students. Housing is cheaper than a lot of other places in NC.
Unfortunately, job opportunities aren't great which is why many residents relocate after graduating. There isn't much to do outside of the bars and the Tar River.
The average driver in Greenville is poorly experienced and inattentive, which means frequent wrecks and traffic congestion.

No one seems like they actually enjoy living here. The traffic can be bad at times and many of the students drive while on their phones. I would like to see more local dining options and general things to do. I do love the parks and think Town Common is a great place to be.
My overall experience at Greenville is nice. There are job fairs at least once a year giving ample opportunity to connect with employers.
Greenville, NC is a fast growing - midsize town with many opportunities. East Carolina University has provided many opportunities for education and employment.
Greenville is the perfect distance between Raleigh and the beach. However, there is not a lot to do in town.
Very small place with many people. Hard to move around at times but it stays surprisingly clean. Much to do around town in the sense of events and get togethers.
I like the town is mostly a quiet town. It good town if you live in certain parts of the town. Every town have good things and bad things. I would like to see more jobs applied too more of the middle class people. We need grocery store in more widened area instead the flow of traffic. We more communities program for children especially on weekends.
It's not a really large city like Raleigh, however, it's not a small town. There aren't many things for women in their 30s unless they have am established network. Quite a few things to do outdoors. Great recreation and parks. Really nice restaurants. Rent prices are not bad.
Greenville is the perfect mash between city and suburban area. As a college town many resources are allocated to the community, allowing high school students, like me, to get a sneak peak of the college experience. Greenville has also provided me with great experiences and community outreach programs, such as Pitt Greenville Soccer Association (PGSA) and the local Food Bank. Although Greenville has treated me great for the past 17 years, I would love to see changes to the local hospital; ECU Health. My mother has been a speech pathologist for the past 20 years at ECU Health and we both agree the city should fund the hospital more, allowing employees to be rewarded more often and facilities to be updated.
If you're into going to church and raising a family, and can work in education or the medical field, then you might like Greenville. Otherwise, there's not much to do. Nightlife centers on a handful of bars near the campus. Most dinning options are chain restaurants - the Applebees does big business here. Crime is an issue - watch your back at the local Wal-Mart, actually, watch your back everywhere. It's just enough of a drive from the beach to be inconvenient, and is kind've in the middle of nowhere. They do have a river that runs through the town, but it's pretty filthy. Traffic is surprisingly bad for a small town.
I first moved here 5 years ago for college, took a break and ended up working here for the last 4 and am now going back to school. There isn’t really much to do here besides go to school, I am planning on moving to a smaller town upon graduating. Overall this town has taught me a lot and I appreciate it for that reason.
Greenville is a huge college town, there are many great places to eat, ECU is great, and lots of places to shop. However, the traffic is terrible , takes me up to an hour to do what should be a 20 minute trip out. Crime is also pretty high and the “was that a firework or a gunshot?” question is often asked.
