Lady Proxima

Biography

Lady Proxima (Linda Hunt) is a giant worm like creature in the Star Wars movie, Solo - A Star Wars Story. Lady Proxima's species is given as Grindalid matriarch of the White Worms Star Wars Databank.

Even though, she is not agile and can move much, Proxima controls much of the crime in the city on Corellia that Han Solo and Qi'ra live. Both Qi'ra and Han answer to Proxima.

When the opportunity arises, Han makes an attempt to escape his life with Qi'ra by smashing a window in Lady's hideout. Proxima is allergic to light and so when light broke into the room, Proxima dived under water leaving her lackeys to deal with Han. The light burnt Proxima's skin. Sunlight is not dangerous to either Han Solo or Qi'ra.

Han and Qi'ra use speeder vehicles to make it to the space port that is controller by Imperial Stormtroopers. At the very last minute, Qi'ra is captured by Proxima's foot soldiers forcing Han to carry on without her.

The character Proxima has only appeared in the one movie so far. The film is set between the Star Wars III - Revenge of The Sith and Star Wars IV - A New Hope, before Han Solo has met either Luke Skywalker or his future love, Princess Leia .

Although Lady Proxima is a C.G.I. creature, the character is voiced by Linda Hunt, a 1983 Oscar winning actress. Linda is best known at the moment for her role as Henrietta 'Hetty' Lange in N.C.I.S. L.A.

Proxima is also the first part of the name of the closest star to Earth other than the Sun, Proxima Centauri. Proxima is a mere 4 light years away which if you had the Millennium Falcon, it would take no time at all to get there.
