  • Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Smacks 18th long ball

Ramirez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional run scored and a walk in Saturday's 8-0 win over the Marlins.

Ramirez has gone 6-for-22 (.273) with two homers and four RBI over six games in June. The third baseman opened the scoring Saturday with a first-inning solo shot off Miami starter Roddery Munoz. For the year, Ramirez is slashing .272/.335/.553 with 18 homers, 61 RBI, 49 runs scored, nine stolen bases, 13 doubles and a triple over 62 contests.

  • Guardians' Steven Kwan: Homers in Saturday's win

Kwan went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, two walks and two total runs scored in Saturday's 8-0 win over the Marlins.

Kwan has received fairly regular rest since returning from a hamstring injury, but he's been money when in the lineup. Over five games since his return, he's gone 9-for-18 (.500) with three RBI and eight runs scored. The outfielder is up to a .371/.431/.523 slash line with four homers, 14 RBI, 36 runs scored and three stolen bases across 37 contests this season. Kwan is likely to remain cautious on the basepaths given his history of hamstring injuries, but it's his bat-to-ball skills that drive his production.

  • Guardians' Pedro Avila: Grabs three-inning save

Avila struck out six and walked two over three scoreless and hitless innings to earn the save in Saturday's 8-0 win over the Marlins.

Avila was scored on in nine of his first 12 outings, but he's settled down lately. He's currently on an 8.2-inning scoreless streak, during which he has a 12:2 K:BB. His save Saturday was the first of his major-league career, though it was his multi-inning abilities in a blowout win that allowed him to pick it up. He's now at a 4.60 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 37:11 K:BB through 31.1 innings between the Padres and the Guardians this year. He's trimmed his ratios to a 3.09 ERA and 1.07 WHIP since he was traded to Cleveland in mid-April. Avila is no threat to challenge for consistent high-leverage work.

  • Guardians' Ben Lively: Win streak up to five

Lively (6-2) allowed three hits and struck out one without walking a batter over five shutout innings to earn the win over the Marlins on Saturday.

Lively might have had more in the tank -- he threw just 65 pitches (43 strikes) in a sharp but somewhat short outing. It was enough for his fifth straight win, and he's allowed just eight runs with a 22:6 K:BB over 28.1 innings in that span. Lively isn't dominating by most measures, as his 20.2 percent whiff rate is in the 15th percentile in the majors, per Statcast. He also averages just 90 mph between his four-seam fastball and sinker, which combine for roughly 60 percent of his pitches. Despite the poor under-the-hood metrics, he's pitched to a 2.59 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 48:15 K:BB over 55.2 innings through 10 starts this season. Lively's next start is projected to be at Toronto.

  • Guardians' Brayan Rocchio: Getting breather Saturday

Rocchio isn't in the Guardians' lineup Saturday versus the Marlins.

Rocchio will get a day off Saturday after hitting the first home run of his MLB career during Friday's loss. Daniel Schneemann will take over at shortstop while batting ninth.

  • Guardians' Bo Naylor: Sitting again Saturday

Naylor isn't in the Guardians' lineup for Saturday's game against Miami.

Slashing just .170/.247/.259 through 150 plate appearances, Naylor has begun to see his playing time take a significant hit recently. David Fry, who has had one of the hottest bats in baseball, will pick up another start behind the plate while Kyle Manzardo serves as Cleveland's DH.

  • Guardians' Brayan Rocchio: Cranks first career homer

Rocchio went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Marlins.

Rocchio's first career homer came in the third inning of his 77th game. That blast was all the offense the Guardians could put on the board in Friday's loss. The shortstop has held down a starting role this year, but he's posted a mediocre .213/.314/.287 slash line with 11 RBI, 27 runs scored, seven stolen bases and nine doubles over 192 plate appearances.

  • Guardians' Cade Smith: Tagged with loss Friday

Smith (3-1) allowed a run on three hits and struck out one over one inning Friday, taking the loss versus the Marlins.

It was a rare hiccup for Smith, who gave up a run-scoring single to Jazz Chisholm in the eighth inning. This appearance ended Smith's 12-inning scoreless streak, during which he had a 14:1 K:BB. He's at a 1.82 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 39:7 K:BB over 29.2 innings with a save and six holds as he continues to grow into a high-leverage role as a rookie.

  • Guardians' Logan Allen: Delivers quality start

Allen allowed two runs on four hits and three walks over six frames in a no-decision Friday. He struck out three during the loss to Miami.

Allen served up back-to-back solo homers to Bryan De La Cruz and Josh Bell in the third inning but otherwise kept Miami's offense fairly quiet. It was a needed bounce-back after Allen was tagged with seven runs through 1.2 innings in his last appearance. He posted a 6.26 ERA in six May starts despite two of them being scoreless outings. For the season, Allen owns a 5.57 ERA and a 54:23 K:BB through 64.2 innings. His next start is projected to be in Toronto next weekend.

  • Guardians' Bo Naylor: Absent from lineup versus lefty

Naylor is not in the lineup for Friday's game in Miami.

With southpaw Ryan Weathers on the hill for the Marlins, the left-handed hitting Naylor will begin this one on the bench. Austin Hedges will do the catching for Logan Allen.

  • Guardians' Steven Kwan: Getting day off

Kwan is absent from the lineup for Friday's game in Miami.

The Guardians have now mixed in two off days for Kwan in the outfielder's first week back from a hamstring injury. David Fry will be the left fielder Friday and Tyler Freeman will be elevated to the leadoff spot.

  • Guardians' Estevan Florial: Outrighted to Triple-A

The Guardians outrighted Florial to Triple-A Columbus on Friday after he cleared waivers.

Florial was designated for assignment last week after slashing just .173/.264/.367 with a 36.9 percent strikeout rate in his first 36 games with Cleveland. While no longer on the 40-man roster, he will remain in the organization as outfield depth.

  • Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Homers in loss

Ramirez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional RBI and a walk in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Royals.

Ramirez entered Thursday with no homers over his last five games, matching his longest drought since he went eight contests from April 26 to May 4 without a long ball. The third baseman upped his power in late May and is now at 17 homers this season, with eight of them coming since May 17. He's added a stellar .276/.335/.552 slash line with 60 RBI, 47 runs scored, nine stolen bases, 13 doubles and one triple over 60 contests.

  • Guardians' Hunter Gaddis: Stuck with loss Thursday

Gaddis (3-2) took the loss Thursday versus the Royals, allowing one run on two hits over one inning.

Gaddis gave up the go-ahead run on a Kyle Isbel single in the eighth inning. This ended Gaddis' scoreless streak at 13.1 innings and gave him his first loss since April 30. The right-hander has been excellent in a setup role this year with a 1.84 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 26:5 K:BB to go with 13 holds over 29.1 innings. As long as this setback doesn't become a slump, he should continue to help the Guardians hold leads in the late innings.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Strikes out seven in no-decision

Bibee allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits and a walk over five innings in a no-decision Thursday against the Royals. He struck out seven.

Bibee allowed just one unearned run through his first five innings, though he'd be charged with two runs in the sixth after allowing the first two batters to reach. Still, it was another decent effort from the 25-year-old right-hander -- Bibee now has seven strikeouts in back-to-back outings while pitching to a 2.12 ERA over his last five starts. Overall, he's 4-1 on the year with a 3.73 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 76:19 K:BB through 70 innings. Bibee's currently in line for a road matchup with the Reds in his next outing.
