We opted to do this smaller museum over a bigger attraction in town, and I’m so glad we did! My kids (ages 12, 10, and 7) had a great time here. So many exhibits are interactive, and there is also a planetarium. We spent at least three hours here, and they could have easily have spent another hour in the map exhibit.

Good set up with lots of hands on for kids. Give yourself 2-3 hrs to see all. For adults only, about 1.5h will be about all you need.
...plus 30 for the planetarium show

The admission is free!
But I recommend to buy a planetarium ticket for only $ 3 (including tax!)
The planetarium show was very good; but the star talk afterwards even better.

The museum has a load of hands on exhibits = so the kids will love it.
Me as an adult: I’d liked the history of town on the 2nd floor most.

The only negative thing is:
They don’t offer free parking = so I paid $ 13 in the nearby parking garage

Very good museum. A lot of very neat things on the history of Kalamazoo. Good things to do for younger kids too, so families with kids should really enjoy it also.

It is free too!

I have gone to the Kalamazoo Valley Museum a few times! Once for a school trip, a couple times with family and friends, and I would love to go back soon! I highly recommend them to anyone as their interactive exhibits are amazing and I learn so much when I am there!

We really enjoyed out recent visit here again. It really has great local history. It also has wonderful seasonal exhibitions that we will schedule our yearly visits around. My favorite part is that the Museum is free!! Which makes it affordable for my husband and I to return again and again. Especially with our grandchildren

Nice place.. Great place to be no matter what the occasion... I loved it. It wasn't too busy or not enough people. It was just right and wasn't expensive. I saw a movie in the planetarium room and the person who conducted it was professional a s knowledgeable... It was very clean and I have no complaints about this place what do ever.
