"There are cameras throughout the light rail system, so Seattle police probably have some idea of what these suspects look like." is anyone describing these two stabby criminals?

u/MomOnDisplay avatar

It took them a while after the hammer attack last year to release footage of the guy, as I recall. Not sure why, seems like the sort of thing that you could and would want to do ASAP

u/lumberjackalopes avatar

Probably sound transit delaying because they found the footage but realized who the perpetrator(s) are and don’t want to release it due to reasons

u/nospamkhanman avatar

They're looking for two attackers, one fat white dude with long dirty blonde hair and tbe other "brown complected bald man".

Whoever wrote that press release earlier really irritated me. I hope they are fired for failing to use equitable language. The city made it clear that all employees must perform their duties with a focus through a clear lens of equity and this clown doesn't even refer to people with white or brown skin in the same manner.

Yeah I saw that on CHB and laughed. It’s strange that it was a local chef so possible bad drug deal? But what’s stranger is he seems to be an upstanding citizen, well known, etc.

I’m waiting for more details to come out because it seems so strange with the lack of details

Chirp.

The identity of the killer is known.

Well would you mind releasing it so that those of us not in the restaurant/Capitol Hill service worker communities can also be aware of who to watch out for? Walking around with Stabby McFuckhead among the faces on Broadway Ave or on Link Rail on a daily basis gets really old really fast.

He was just taken in custody.

has the name been released?

Not until he is in custody.

Honest question. The young girl who killed the Uber driver in Sodo. Was there ever a picture or name released?

This received extensive coverage when she was arrested.  Link is to one of several hits on a simple search.

Thanks, image search using name showed something but still no mugshot or court appearance pic.

i dunno man, saying stuff like "only 47 assaults in 2 months" isn't really reassuring

u/theoriginalrat avatar

Is that 47 assaults in 12 years?

u/fresh-dork avatar

i read it as 2 months. the article isn't exactly clear

A Seattle Times article from February about another death is a bit clearer:

So far in 2024, Sound Transit received 105 assault reports, a higher rate than in past years. Most of them were verbal abuse of transit operators, considered an assault under federal reporting standards, Gallagher said. About 47 were physical assaults. In addition, such counts have risen in recent months because more security guards are out in transit stations to either observe or take reports of minor incidents. Gallagher said the number of assaults remains low compared to total monthly ridership.

So it's just this year.

On its face that doesn't seem great, I wonder how that stacks up compared to similar spaces across the country.

“There was no security “…. Yeah, there still isn’t on certain days, at certain hours, either. I ride the link Tuesday-Saturday and it just seems there isn’t security a lot of times.
