Delhi University is the most sought-after institute by students of graduation and postgraduation. Even though clearing cutoffs and securing a seat at DU is extremely challenging, certain colleges at Delhi University have failed to secure a favorable student opinion, either due to poor infrastructure, negligent faculty/ administration, or simply because of the poor neighborhood. Some of these colleges, as suggested by a few friends of mine, are- Ramanujan College, Kalkaji: Poor infrastructure in terms of classrooms and especially, the canteen area Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Sciences for Women Acharya Narendra Dev College, Kalkaji: Poor infrastructure, poor canteen facilities, poor washroom facility. Not a pleasant neighborhood. Lab facilities are below par and equipments are very old. However, the teachers are very supportive. The admin section is not very helpful and supportive towards the students Satyawati College Some other colleges include- Shyam Lal College, Shri Aurobindo College, Deshbandhu College, PGDAV, Zakir Husain Delhi College, JDMC, Bharti College, Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar College, and Aryabhatta College This list is subjective and some of the people have even been graduated 5 or 6 years ago. Colleges at DU undergo constant improvements in terms of administration, infrastructure, academics, and so on. It depends also upon individual taste as to which college one finds good or bad.

How was your first day in DU?

One of the students of DU shared her experience by explaining that the orientation day was the first day of lectures. When everyone arrived in the designated room, their faculty was there to greet them. She witnessed a lot of strange faces. Fortunately, she had her roommate to chat with because she was also a classmate. Lecturers treated them extremely well. Then everyone began introducing themselves. The rest of the day was spent lying in bed, talking on the phone, and doing nothing. After three weeks, proper classes began. By the fifth week, the books had been recommended. DU released the date sheet just as the students finished one chapter. It was a completely new experience for her, but it was well worth it, as she says it.

Q: Are there any hostel facilities exclusively for international students at Delhi University?

Delhi University has an International Students House in the North Campus to provide accommodation facilities to mainly foreign and a few Indian students. The International Students House is a Mens Hostel for full time postgraduate students of the University of Delhi. A few full time foreign undergraduate students are also admitted to the House. There are 98 seats in International Students House, of which 68 are reserved for foreign students. These seats are allotted to the applicants in order of merit giving representation to as many countries as possible. Out of 68 seats 20% will be allotted to undergraduate foreign students. However, not more than two undergraduates from any country are admitted at a time.

Delhi University offers a wide range of Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Doctoral programs in the fields of Arts, Science, Commerce, Management, Law, Engineering among others. 10% supernumerary seats will be reserved for Foreign National Students in each program.
There is no minimum age bar for admission to UG and PG programs except where the respective regulatory bodies, such as Medical Council of India (MCI), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Bar Council of India (BCI), National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Dental Council of India (DCI), etc. have prescribed the minimum age requirement in their regulations.
Candidates having gap year are also eligible to apply for admission to UG and PG programs at DU.
15% seats are reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste.
7.5% seats are reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes.
27% seats are reserved for the Candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes (OBC-Non-Creamy Layer, Central List).
For Economically Weaker Sections (EWSs) Category, the University Departments / Centres / Colleges have reserved 10% of seats in each program.

Delhi University Admission

Delhi University conducts admission for UG and PG programs based on scores obtained in the entrance examination. DU admission process involves appearing for the entrance examination, registration for seat allocation on the admission portal, and the seat allotment process. DU admission is done via a multi-step process, the entire admission process is as follows:

Step 1: Register for the Entrance Examination

Delhi University admissions for all courses at affiliated colleges, faculties, and departments are based on scores obtained in the entrance examination. To apply for admission at Delhi University, candidates must register for the following entrance examinations:

Candidates applying for CUET UG must select Delhi University while filling the application form and choose subjects in which he/she is appearing/has passed Class 12th.
In case the subject studied at Class 12th is not mentioned in the CUET UG application form, the candidate must appear in the Language/Domain Specific subject that is similar/closely related to the subject he/she has studied at Class 12th (for example, if you have studied Biochemistry in the Class 12th then you must appear in Biology in the CUET UG.
Admission to PG courses at NCWEB is also based on CUET PG scores, while UG admissions are offered based on 12th marks.
Admissions at School of Open Learning (DU SOL) are based on merit in the qualifying examination.

Step 2: Appear for the Entrance Exam

Candidates who filled the application form must appear for the entrance examination as per the schedule. The timeline of when entrance exams are usually conducted in a year is given below:

Step 3: Registration on DU CSAS Portal and Filling of Courses and College Preferences

Candidates who qualify the entrance examination must register on the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) Portal of Delhi University for seat allotment. Once the registration is done, candidates will be asked to fill college and course preferences. Registration portals for admission to various courses along with the registration fee of Delhi University are as follows:

Note:

Candidates applying for BFA will have to pay an additional fee of INR 400 (non-refundable).

For applying to ECA and Sports supernumerary quota, there is an additional fee of INR 100 for each quota.

Step 4: Seat Allocation

The seat allocation for all courses will be done in multiple rounds. Delhi University will be releasing merit lists in two categories: Common Merit List and Category 2 Merit List (for PG courses only). All candidates will be considered in the Common Merit List (CML). However, for Category 2 Merit List (C2ML) only students who have graduated from Delhi University will be considered for admission to PG programs based on merit in the qualifying examination. The Highest Possible Preference will be provisionally allocated to a candidate considering the following criteria:

Program-based merit list.
Social Category (UR/OBC-NCL/SC/ST/EWS).
Availability of seats

Step 5: Blocking of Seats and Final Admission

Upon declaration of merit list, candidates can check the list by login into their CSAS dashboard for acceptance of the allocated seat, if offered. Once a seat has been allocated in a particular round, the candidate must 'Accept' the Allocated Seat before the last date/time specified for the given allocation round. The provision for acceptance of a particular Allocated Seat will be valid only for the round in which the seat was allocated to the candidate. In case of multiple seat allotment in a particular round, candidates will be allowed to “Accept” and take admission in ONLY ONE allocated seat.

Once the candidate "Accept" the provisionally Allocated Seat, the concerned Department/ Centre/ College will approve the seat allotment by checking the eligibility and documents uploaded by the candidate.
Upon approval of the seat allotment by the concerned Department/ Centre/ College, candidates will have to pay the admission fee to confirm the admission.

Delhi University Cutoff

Delhi University cutoff for admission to UG and PG programs (except BTech, Integrated 5 year LLB, and MBA) at affiliated colleges are released based on scores obtained in the CUET examination. DU College and course-wise cutoffs are given below:

In 2023, the CUET UG cutoff score for admission to BA (Hons), B.Sc (Hons), and B.Com (Hons) programs declined as compared to 2022 when the cutoff score for these courses touched 800 marks for top colleges like Miranda House, Hindu College, and others.
For admission to flagship courses such as BA English (Hons), BA Economic (Hons), and BA (Political Science), candidates need to score at least 750 out of 800 to get a seat in one of the top colleges of DU.
As per the previous year cutoff trends, DU campus wise CUET UG scores as follows:

Delhi University is divided into two campuses: North and South Campus. The university is also coming up with two new campuses - East and West. They have a very strict attendance policy of 66%.

Admission:

The process was to fill a Delhi University form, but this college had a seperate form as well, so you had to fill out both these forms to get into the college. Cut-off lists are released along with the lists of all other Delhi University colleges. If you are eligible then you just have to go and fill your details in the college and do some other formalities.

My cutoff was based on my marks in class 12th. Application form was submitted online in month of June. I availed the benefit of obc caste that didn't helped me much as it gave me benefit of only 2%. So do not depend much on it.

Admissions are conducted via CUET exam, all the applications are handled on csas portal of DU, eligibility of physics honours is pcm/pcb in class 12th and admission are based on merit basis.there are no need for improvements except for making the csas portal more navigable.

Inconsistent Teaching Quality: While some teachers are excellent and experienced, others, particularly new ones, lack effective teaching skills. The Physics department, in particular, suffers from poor faculty performance.
Few tech-based companies visit, and science students often do not secure placements in their field.Open Auditorium Discomfort: During summer, the open auditorium becomes almost unbearable, making it difficult to attend functions andevents comfortably

Now you have to give CUET for taking admission in DU. Reservation is provided to sc st and obc students. Application process is similar to any exam you give. And its available on the official website of DU. Then after some days all the colleges release there cutoffs time to time. You have to check the same and apply accordingly

Exams were always conducted in off weird seasons like I use to sweat like hell during may and shiver in december ending while seating in classrooms to give my exam

Admission process was easy. During my time there was no entrance exam. I scored 93% and got Admission in Dyal Singh College in 3rd cut off. So you just need to fill in application and once the cut off list is out you can choose and apply in that particular college.

I love the library and canteen of my college, it has one of the largest librar and canteen(in south campus)y of Delhi University.
I love the activeness of cultural societies especially Aadhaar(theatre society).

Dislikes

Social interaction is average, not so good, but I'm an enjoying it.
The placement cell is not active and the placement is average.

Admission:

You should pass class 12th with physics, chemistry and mathematics for the eligibility of Physics Hons then there will be an entrance exam called CUET to take admission in central universities. You can find the application form in NTA website. If you are under any reservation category then you can avail it while filling the form. The exam pattern is based on your class 12th syllabus not much tough like JEE and the ample amount is given for the examination.

Good atmosphere and good faculty with good teachers, but I would suggest to be some sort of friendly behaviour should keep between student and administration
It was good , I would say that you can't make more friends but you can socialize with everybody if you are an extrovert

Administrative staffs are not friendly like we are students and they always thinks that we are just strangers
Canteen was good but not maintained so far , they don't provide much options

I got admission with my higher secondary marks not by cuet . I got 100 percentage mark . So the cutoff at that time was around 98 . I don't have any reservation but there is some reservations you can check the cuet website or college website for more information

The first and foremost thing which I liked about the college is the student friendly environment. Students are free to explore their passion, hobbies, and a vast options of cultural fields as well.
The college library is a big thumbs up. It is one of the top libraries in the DU, because of its huge resources.

Dislikes

The college lacks in indoor sports equipments. No proper sports room is maintained.
There is no specific auditorium for functions and events. This makes it really tough to organise events.

Admission:

There wasn't any formalities particularly for college admission. After completing CUET and after results students get the preference list and as their scores they will get the college and after that they have to pay the admission amount and get their documents verified on the very first day of the college.

The eligibility of my course was nothing you can come from any background no matter you are from arts, commerce and science just you have to stand upon in the cutoff which was not so much. the application form and other things can find from CUET website the CUET exam held once in a year the difficulty level was very easy to moderate on my time as it was the first time that the UGC introduced CUET common University entrance test and it also helped like if you got low marks in 12th you have another chance to prepare in CUET and mark good score to get regular colleges

DU Sports Scholarship: The Candidates who represent Delhi University in Their inter-university sports competitions are eligible for this Scholarship. The Candidates Under this Scholarship will receive a maximum amount of INR 2,000 per month.

Merit Scholarship SC/ST/OBC/Minority Students of College/Professional Institutions: The Scholarships are Offered by the Delhi government to SC/ST/OBC/Minorities students studying in recognized Colleges/Professional/ Technical Institutions.

Day scholars pursuing degree courses and technical /professional and vocational courses are eligible for INR 900 per month for 12 months. Whereas, the Hostellers will receive INR 1620 per month for 12 months.

The Candidates Pursuing a PG Degree will receive an amount of INR 960 per month. And hostellers get INR.1860/- per month for 12 Months.

Eligibility criteria :

Students should not have less than 60% marks in the previous academic year.
Annual income not applicable.
The rate of scholarship will be reduced to 50%, if a student fails in the annual examination, but continues to study.
Post Matric Scholarship for OBC Students (PMS-OBC): This scholarship aims to give qualifying students financial support to the candidates of Other Backward Classes (OBC). Selected students will receive numerous other incentives, including maintenance allowance of up to INR 750 per month.
Post Matric Scholarship schemes for SC students: Eligible students from all Bachelor’s courses pursued in recognized institutions. Only Scheduled Castes students are eligible for this scholarship amount of INR 380 to INR 1200.
