Edreams is a total scam

Stop saying they are not a scam, that's not helpful when they have ripped the money off of so many people including me. Their whole setup speaks scam.

A scam works by serving some and ripping off some.

I tried to book a flight on Friday and at the end they said it failed and no charge had been made.

But at the same time I checked my bank and 3 separate charges were made totaling up to 500 USD. They never sent an email of any sort (nothing in junk folder) and no booking reference was issued.

All their online chat end points end up in either errors or won't proceed without a booking number. So you can't speak to a booking company without a reference number?

None of their phone numbers work. I tried two UK phone numbers and one Hong Kong number. Both UK ones just exit the call before connecting and the HK one won't proceed without a booking number.

Read the threads or read their site.

You applied for a fare. They take your money and try to buy at that fare.

If they succeed you get your ticket

If they fail they ask you for more money.

You can chose to give them more money

You can chose not to and they will refund your money within 72 hours or so.

If it has been 72 hours and your money is not back, contact your credit card and file a dispute .

But you have obviously seen the thousands of complaints here and chose to use them anyway.

WHY???

They generally aren’t a scam, but they are a terrible company that NOBODY here recommends.

But calling them a scam is libel. Hope they don’t have lawyers who are sensitive to your claims.

Expecting any customer service from a deep discount company is naive.

Quite a few existing eDreams threads on the forum. You could have just added your tale to one of those rather than start another.

Apart from the promise of a "cheap" fare, was there any other reason why you would choose to book a flight via eDreams during so much worldwide travel turmoil? Has the promised saving been worth it?

Now is the time to pick carefully who you book flights with. Direct with the airline would probably be best for the moment as you have no middle entity to deal with if things go wrong or your plans change.

I suspect those charges are actually temporary holds on your credit card to test that you had the funds available. If the booking did not complete the hold will drop off from your account in a few days. If you repeated the action three times then the same may occur three times.

Please book direct with the airline.

It's probably a hold and will drop off. If it doesn't, that's when you should whine.

Or do your research and don't use them in the first place.

A lof of what they - and other agents do - is NOT a scam as this probably isn't. You really need to get your facts straight before making defamatory statements. And I say that as one who wouldn't touch these outfits with a very long bargepole.

I booked via momondo. They were on the list at the top and I just took my happy medium and booked. I didn't choose for any big savings. Others had a few dollars difference nothing big.

I have booked with many third parties companies in the past, I never had this experience.

The bank has confirmed the payments have been taken and not on hold so not sure how it will pan out.

Other threads didn't have payments taken without a reference number. My case was different.

Tripadvisor itself has the flight booking so not everyone is so scummy as edreams. I have had very good experiences in the past.

"They were on the list at the top and I just took my happy medium and booked." - In other words you booked blind without doing any research.

You really need to learn to book direct with the relevant airline - continuing to book with a range of 3rd parties is just going to give you more problems in the future.

Oh goodness.

Never, ever book anything at all via TA again and save yourself a whole lot of bother. There is no after sales service whatsoever and TA leave it up to ordinary members of the website to try and help out their disgruntled customers because they are not interested. You only have to visit the Trip Advisor support forum to see this.

Why on earth do you want to put TWO middle men between yourself and the supplier?

It makes no sense at all especially if there was little saving to be had.

Sorry but I just don 't understand your logic here.

LOTS of other threads had payments taken out without reference numbers.

You didn't research this company before you chose them

You didn't research here before posting.

I think I see the problem now.

Dispute with your payment card as soon as the 72 hours is over. Buy direct next time. Use the comparison sites to get info on flights and airlines, but use cheap third party sellers at your own risk

" I have booked with many third parties companies in the past, I never had this experience. "

You obviously like taking risks, this time you've lost I'm afraid. I personally don't use 3rd party agents, especially the very well known shoddy ones

Perhaps try booking direct with the airline in future
