I agree with much of what many of the other reviewers state here. I may have to get another copy of this DVD because mine may be getting worn from so much use. It's a fabulous DVD and if you're a real country music fan, you'll enjoy this DVD. The quality is much higher than most country music DVDs that have the classic country selections -- this was a live show from Illinois -- and the sound and camera work is excellent. The camera shots feature the solo performances by the musicians during the songs and you get the full flavor of the live concert.....I've bought several of the Grand Ol' Opry DVDs and Classic Country DVDs all with fine song selections but none have the sound and camera quality of this DVD which brings the live performance right into your living room. On this DVD while Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard are the marquee names, I think Ray Price, who had to be at least 75 when this concert took place (Haggard turned 75 on 4/7/12), literally steals the show, in my book. He performs his classics, has a tremendous band backing him up which the video captures perfectly, and shows just genuine respect for the audience, something some of the today's current era performers should take a page. Asleep at the Wheel is at it's best when it teams with Merle to do some Bob Wills Texas Swing tunes and then Willie comes in while Hag and Asleep at the Wheel are performing Okie from Muskogee. See the other reviews for the full song selections. One that must be mentioned is Willie and Merle reprise what I consider one of the best country duets ever, "Poncho & Lefty" ; not quite as good as the original "Poncho & Lefty" album version and the part where Merle initially comes in on the song -- some of the best recording anywhere. Ray Price comes back on stage to join in on some songs with Willie and Merle and once again displays why he is such a class act.

If you like classic country music and good quality video and sound....can't go wrong with this Last of the Breed DVD.

One regret with this DVD -- if you also purchase the "Last of the Breed" CD version (two CD set), you'll notice that not all the songs on the CD are on the DVD....I would have liked to have had Harlan Howard's great tune which became Charlie Walker's signature song, "Pick Me Up on Your Way Down" performed by Willie and Merle included on the DVD. Can't have everything.

　これはレイ・プライス、マール・ハガード、ウィリー・ネルソンというカントリー界の大御所３人が共演した2007年3月のライブを2時間近くにわたり収録したDVDで、リージョン1のため当方の環境ではPCでしか見られなかったものの、そのライブの意義と楽しさは存分に堪能できました。ウィリーだけが生き残った今となってはますます感慨深いものです（まさにラスト・オブ・ザ・ブリード）。

　カントリー音楽の父と言われる1930年代のジミー・ロジャースは無理にしても、ウェスタン・スウィング以降のカントリー音楽に実際に関わっている御三方（レイ・プライスはハンク・ウィリアムズの直弟子、マール・ハガードはボブ・ウィルズからフィドルを直接もらう、ウィリーは50年代から作曲家でレイにも曲を提供）だから、生き字引と言っていい存在です。それをサポートするのは腕利きウェスタン・スウィングのレイ・ベンソンとアスリープ・アット・ザ・ウィールズ、チェロキー・カウボーイズ（レイ・プライスのバンド）、マール・ハガードのバック・ミュージシャン、ウィリーの相方のハーモニカ奏者・ミッキー・ラファエル、フレディ・パワーズ、といった面々です。レイとマールの持ち歌でそれぞれの見せ場を作った後で、2人とそれぞれレコードを出したり交友があるウィリーを交える構成で、実際に3人の共演は2曲のみですが、和やかに締まった演奏が繰り広げられます。

　これまでの御三方の歴史と背景を知っていたら一層楽しめる一例（ネタバレ）としては、マール・ハガードが反ヒッピーのOkie from Muskogeeを歌っている歌詞にリンクしたようにヒッピーの姿をしたアウトローのウィリーを迎え入れて、観客が総立ちになるという場面があります。確証がないのですが、歌詞の最初の「マスコーギーではマリファナなんか吸わない」の声質がマール・ハガードの低い太い響きがないので、マリファナを擁護しているウィリーが陰で歌ったのではないか？というのもあります。（マール本人がウィリー登場の仕掛けをほめのかすトーンで歌ったのが順当なところでしょう。）同じ音楽のファンならみんな友達、という良くも悪くもテキトーなところがたまりません。付録の御三方揃い踏みのインタビューでもその友情が垣間見えます。
