Pleased with all aspects of our visit to the Fort Worth Zoo. There was quite a line of cars heading into the parking lot on this beautiful weekend day. Probably took about 15 minutes to park with most of that time in line to pull into the zoo property. One into the lot everything was smooth with the acceptable line to buy tickets and the person at the ticket counter was very accommodating in looking up our discount for a reciprocal account with another organization in Florida where we are members. Ended up being half price. The flow of the zoo was logical and easy to follow. All of the exhibits were well done. A special treat was the giraffe area and the ability to feed the giraffes. Also really liked the great apes and the large cats. Didn’t try any food, so no comments on that. Plenty of shaded areas and benches to rest and get out of the sun.

Having previously seen some of its Asian pieces, the Kimbell has been on my list for years. The venue makes everything easy. Underground parking is free; you can get upstairs via stairs or elevator; its two buildings (just a short walk in between) are easily accessible; admission is free; it provides free folding chairs that visitors can carry between rooms (not all have public seating).

I loved the collection. There isn’t a 2nd tier piece on display. Example: it has a Donatello! The labels are equally great. Although I consider myself knowledgeable regarding Himalayan art, I learned something new with the 1st label, which was fantastic.

The on-site cafe is large and the food tasty. No reservations are required and the food is moderately priced. Some seating looks towards an enclosed courtyard featuring art.

It was a great visit and one I’d recommend.

This place is at the southern end of the core downtown business district. I had visited it years ago when I lived in Fort Worth briefly, but I did not recall much about it. We were in the area and had 30 minutes before a nearby lunch appointment, so we stopped by.

We arrived around 11:30 a.m. on a Sunday. There were a lot of people around and it seemed safe at that time; I'm not sure what it is like in the evening, though.

We were able to find street parking about 2 blocks away. It was free at the time (I think the parking meter said that it was free on weekends and after 6 p.m., but you should double check that if you are using a metered space).

There are at least 2 entrances to the park at opposite corners. There appeared to be 3 different water features surrounding a small plaza in the middle. There were also stone-capped landscaping / walls surrounding the place.

The first and most popular feature is a sort of inverted ziggurat where the water flows down into the lowest point. There are block stairs (no railings) via which you can access the low point and look up at the terraces. We descended here and checked it out. It was interesting but can get crowded.

The next feature is a sunken pool surrounded by walls. You can descend a staircase and be at pool level. I think it is supposed to be a more serene setting.

The final feature is a slightly sunken pool with spray heads at intervals, creating a spray level about 3 feet above the pool, along with shifting rainbows if it is sunny out.

If you are in the area and have at least 30 minutes, this is worth seeing just for the novelty. Kids seemed to like it too, mostly for the opportunities for climbing on rocks or steps.

Stockyard was great along with seeing the cattle drive and Rodeo! Loved the shops too! We stayed at the Hotel Drover which was an experience in itself.

Interesting stop. We happened to be staying down the street and decided to check it out. It was worth the stop just to walk out over the floor. I wouldn’t go far out of way to visit. No phones, no smartwatches allowed.

We went to the Ft. Worth Symphony last night. The auditorium was perfect, the service and drink bar were flawless. The Strauss and the Tchaikovsky pieces were inspired. The modern piece, while executed well by the orchestra, was simply dark and depressing. We don’t pay to hear dark and depressing. We are not masochists. Do not do this again. I don’t care if you are married to the conductor. Get outside, see nature, lighten up.

The Amon Carter Museum of American Art stands as a hidden gem, offering a rich and rewarding artistic experience for those willing to seek it out. For lovers of Georgia O'Keeffe's iconic imagery and American art aficionados alike, a visit to this inconspicuous museum is sure to leave a lasting impression.

With the Kimbell Museum and the Amon Carter Museum of American Art, it forms the third leg of the powerhouse art heart of Texas. It also has a fantastic restaurant.

This was a gorgeous morning to afternoon trip. Even with some plants in their mid-winter phase, we loved the origami flowers and decor. Quite a nice walk. Had our cameras going in every little area. The cafe on premises was a bit overpriced and underwhelming, but you are allowed to bring your own food and drinks in- will do that next time. The indoor tropical garden greenhouse was phenomenal. We went with our 9 year old daughter, and I worried she might get bored, but she found something she liked in every area. Oh! Our GPS tried to take us through some closed streets, so we got a little turned around getting to the garden, but just go to the botanical garden center to park.

Ok, it’s been 20+ years since my last in person NASCAR race, so I am not surprised that things are different…and of course everything is bigger and better in Texas so I should have expected that TMS might exceed my expectations…Texas Motor Speedway is absolutely amazing! Parking was a breeze and we were able to park well away from other vehicles (my husband’s thing) in the express lot. The concourse area is immense and includes plenty of rest room facilities, a generous array of food and beverage choices and lots of benches to take a break from the scorching Texas sun. Our bleacher seats were spacious and included backrests!!! and an area in front of your feet to place drinks. The amount of room we had in our seats was truly shocking. Big Hoss, the large LED screen in the backstretch was surprisingly bright even in all that sunshine and gave us a bird’s eye view of all the action and was especially great for seeing a replay of anything we missed. This was my husband’s first NASCAR race and the experience was so much fun he has already started talking about when we can go again (this is a man who watches golf on Sundays, not racing). Well done, Texas Motor Speedway! We will be back!

My husband and I loved this museum. If you are a fan of Frederic Remington and Charles Russell, you will love it too. The museum is small and took us about 45 minutes to see. The museum is free and they will validate your parking if you park in a nearby garage (see website for info). A plus, plus in my book.
