Nice, open and clean outlet city
A big outdoor outlet city with lots of designer brands. In some cases there is a greater discount and other cases barely any. Overall it was a great experience, nice, open and clean place.

A city of malls worth a second trip. Everything is on discounts and you are spoilt for choice.
Normally one goes to a mall in a city for shopping. This is a city of malls. a shopaholics ultimate destination. If you are visiting Germany, Matzingen must be on your bucket list. Each brand has it's own signature store and each store is as large as a normal mall in India. Prices are worth a second visit.

    Great outlet
Metzingen combines a great German city with an awesome huge outlet. They still offer free parking (P3) with just a little walking. Great range of brands and always some nice deals to get your hands on.

Have visited many outlets but never one as bad as this. I will never use time to go there again. Yes this is a huge outlet with all the famous brands but really very expensive prices. We spend 5 hours there today were in a lot of stores but this was simply to expensive only bought things in 2 stores don’t spend time to go there!
Take the outlet in Serravalle North of Genova this is Good prices.

Outletcity is popular with its tax free shopping advantage. If you are planning to visit there to experience tax free shopping, please read this below.

Global Blue was established within the aim of tax (VAT) refund company. So, tax refund is not a concession, it is the core business and the establishment aim of this company.

I have used their service before, when I bought my iPhone from Dresden years ago. All procedures were smooth. However, in this December, I visited Stuttgart Metzingen Outletcity and spent over 500 Euros. The official application of Global Blue showed me that tax refund is 19%. Check the photo below.

I have completed my shopping in the Outletcity and went to the bank to complete my procedures, the man in the bank said that the refund is 10%. It is not good for me, but it is the legal entity which says this to me. So, it's okay, I have completed the procedures.

Next day, I went to the Stuttgart Airport and made my forms stamped by Customs and returned them to the company by putting them into the company’s box, which is not a closed box. It was just an open box, which the documents in it can be easily lost.

It has been almost 3 weeks and I haven’t got my refund yet. When I reached the company, nobody cared me at first. I sent complaint emails, then they reached me out. And they told me that their processing center hasn't received my documents. So they didn’t receive my envelope? But I was with my friend. We exactly followed the same procedures together. She got her refund. Her envelope was just next to mine. So is it only my envelope got lost or anyone else’s envelope is missing too?

It's easy to say that "your envelope is lost". But I do not accept this. If this company is one and such a big company, they can put closed boxes at the airport in order to eliminate these loss problems. So, they don't care about us, the consumers! I believe that I am not the first or last person who have experienced this problem. The company has these kinds of delivery problems maybe every day. And what about precautions?

Global Blue should have foreseen these types of problems and taken some precautions. The company’s duty is about planning the flow of the documents, ensuring their delivery, then refunding.

I just want to spread the word. This is my complaint and maybe it will be helpful for anyone else. Also, we could post our documents to the processing center instead of putting them in an open box, but I have learned this too late. I hope it will be helpful to you.

Went with wife and teenage daughter. Both had a positive experience when discovering the brands in the city. However their bags remained empty as many of the brands apparently had few of their normal cloth but only cloth in “aggressive” colors (summer time). Only highlight was Hugo Boss

I went to the cosmetics company store in the metzingen outlet and unfortunately the two staff members were not nice. The first shouted aggressively at me to lift my mask when I was trying to smell a fragrance. There were no other customers in the store but myself and my colleague and another staff member. We were all standing very far apart. You also have to have a negative test to enter the outlet, which means I do not have COVID. I understand the rules but the staff member should have been more polite in how she spoke.

The second staff member offered my Caucasian colleague a bag when she was paying straight away but not me I had to ask three times for one.

I was generally made to feel like I am not welcome and that the two ladies did not like brown skinned people.
Also they didn’t speak very good English which doesn’t make sense to me if you are working in an outlet that tries to attract people from around the world. Should the store staff not be able to speak English? The store will lose money if they continue to have staff like this.

Very very sad as I had been before and had really good service from very nice women who spoke both German and English.

Outlet city management the staff members have let your brand down.

I accidentally found out about the outlet whilst trying to find out about what there was to do in Stuttgart. I had a few hours to kill before catching my flight back to London but unfortunately the car museums were closed on Mondays, therefore I decided to hang out in the outlets.
I got there by car, it was fairly easy to find using the GPS, however I was surprised that the shops are basically laid out in the middle of Metzingen like a typical town centre. As you enter the town centre in the car you see some of the large stores and small boutiques and there are signs for the car parks which are dotted around the shops. I was expecting it to be more like the US and UK outlets where you just have one large car park and then walk into the shopping village.
There are some outdoor car parks but they are very small so I suggest sticking to the large covered car parks. I wanted to check out the Hugo Boss store so I followed the signs for the Hugo Boss car park. This car park seemed to be quite convenient as it's near the centre of the shops. The Hugo Boss store is huge but there are directions inside to point you to the different sections like suits, Boss Black and the casual ranges. There is a special sale store and also a sample sale shop. I had a quick browse but as I'm a small size there wasn't much choice for me.
I ended up going to Prada for a browse and actually the prices and discounts were very good. It was at least 30% off for the wallets. A black, saffiano leather credit case was on sale for £90, or 110 Euros, whereas on the UK website it's going for £155. A black saffiano bi-fold wallet was on sale for 120 Euros but unfortunately they didn't have any new ones. They had the larger size for £141 or 170 Euros which was selling for £240 on the website. There were mens wool sweaters for 120 Euros or cashmere sweaters for 160 Euros.
I had a quick browse in the Armani store and there were Armani ties for 40 Euros.
If you are keen on outlet shopping I recommend Metzingen as the stores seem spaced out and huge which is refreshing compared to the likes of Bicester Village near London which is always overcrowded and there are always long queues outside the big designer brands like Gucci and Prada. The prices were very reasonable. Admittedly I was there on a Monday afternoon but there are open spaces around the stores so I'm sure you could find an area to chill out if you have had enough shopping. Also it's about 20 mins drive from the airport so an ideal place to kill time before jumping on the plane!
Unfortunately I only had half an hour to browse so definitely hope to be back again soon!

Easy to get here by train.Have been to other outlets in Europe.Very nice layout and shops.Prices are quite good. The few restaurants are OK.
A nice place for bargain hunting, but the service is horrible.I went into Prada holding a cup of coffee.I wasn't drinking it.Nowhere any signs that prohibits any food or drink.A sales woman came running up to me,screaming.I thought she was going to punch me in the face In the rudest tone of voice I have ever experienced in ANY shop, she told me to go out.I told her that I am not drinking the coffee and asked her if she can put it behind the counter untill I am finished. She bluntly refused!
No other shop assistant has ever treated me in such a rude way.Give Prada a skip.Rather take a train to Space at the outlet near Florence.Better variety and far far better service!
Unfortunately that ruined my day.The rest of the shops were fine, but the service was mediocre.
The only shops that stood out was Adidas and Marc O Polo because of their good service.
