Joshua C Career Opportunities is far from John Hughes' best movie, but it's a decent enough, albeit forgettable time. The plot is paper thin, the story is predictable, and the climax is rushed and unsatisfying. However, the Frank Whaley and Jennifer Connelly's on-screen chemistry is undeniable and is the main reason to watch the film; well, that and Connelly herself. The musical choices are solid as well, typical of a Hughes film. In summary it may not reach the heights of John's previous outings, but I don't think it needs or is trying to. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 04/30/24 Full Review isa e Poor plot, poor acting by whaley , dialog stilted, whaley is a charisma vacuum , Connelly was perfect as was her lipstick, it deserved 2nd billing Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/22/24 Full Review Kaia W It was alright, I only watched it because of the a flock of seagulls, space age love song. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/12/23 Full Review Steve D Creepy and does not deserve Connolly's committed work. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/10/23 Full Review Jess W The movie is entertaining and distinctive because it also features strong comedy and a novel kind of love story. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/24/23 Full Review Yuri B This is literally one of my favorite comedies, as well as one of my all-time favorite films. Frank Whaley was another underrated actor. He truly was hilariously funny in this film, & Jennifer Connelly was simply beautiful. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
