One of the few restaurants in Heidelberg where I would like to come back, for easy. Give it a try.
But, do not take the dessert.

The fried duck in hoisin sauce was crisp and good, though the sauce was lacking some balance.
Both the red curry and papaya salad were lacking the heat I was hoping for, but chilies came to the rescue. The least to my liking was the beef in the curry, more cooked than stir-fried.

Had a delicious meal. Mixed starters with hoisin, duck with yellow curry sauce and chicken with noodles. The good was fresh, tasty and very good quality. Service was friendly and quick. Highly recommended. Will definitely go back.

Good kitchen. Waiters take into account the taste of the guest (for example: allergies to food components). Pleasant interior - an island of silence on the noisy Haupstrasse. Negative points: the kitchen cooks slowly, if you speak English, pronounce your order in several ways (they can serve a dish that you did not order), there are insects in the toilet.

Don’t need many words to describe the food. It is delicious. The menu hosts spicy and mild dishes. Make sure you are on time (before 18.30) otherwise you might have to wait to get seated. Overall a very nice food experience.

This reatsuarant is situated on the main street which leads from the old town gates & castle down in the general direction of the train station, This street is awash with dining options (particularly at the castle end) but this restaurant and menu looked very appealing. The food was recommended by a German lady who had just finished her lunch - we were not to be disappointed, the food was fantastic. Drinks are reasonably priced and service is great. Would not hesitate to go back.

After looking at the reviews we entered this place and had to wait 2 hours for our food and noticed that the same was the case by all other tables. Once the food arrived the quantity was nothing compared to the price being charged. Would never visit again !

Excellent beautiful food, great quality and large portions. Huge variety in dishes for all tastes. We have been twice, once with friends, we are vegan and had noodles with tofu,veggie spring rolls, delicious sushi board and a diving thai curry. Would recommend to anyone.

Been on a busy saturday evening.
We had a very tasty 3 course menü for 2 people (noodle soup, meat plate with noodles & rice, as dessert sweet soup, for € 42).
From ordering to paying took 1,5 hours, but very good vietnamese/asian food.
Friendly, young service.

I went here on a grey / dark January afternoon for lunch.
Saigon Sonne is on the Main Street in down town Heidelberg. On the outside it doesn't show its quality, but please do enter.
I was here for lunch and ordered a Vietnamese noodle soup. It has been a very very lomg time since I had such a tasty authentic flavoured soup.
Stunning quality.
When enjoying my lunch I noticed that quite a few locals and business people also came for lunch. For me a key sign Saigon Sonne is there to deliver.
I noticed the plates being served around me, and they all smelled amazing and looked stunning and super authentic.
I wish I had more time to order something else...
The eggrolls served next to me looked from a different world. Pff……
I can highly recommend this place. The quality of cooking is an awful lot better then the exterior and interior give impression for.
Keep up the good work, I will return !!!!

We've been going for lunch at Saigon Sonne once a month for the past 3 years, and we still love it. Decent prices, quick and friendly service. My all-time favorite, papaya salad on uploadef pic, is always served with fresh herbs. They have enough space for large groups and children, baby highchairs, etc.
We usually spend around 60 Euros for starters, main meal and drinks.
