"We would like to deeply thank the staff of the Cottage Medi-Clinic Hospital for all their kindness and commitment in assuring the successful birth of our daughter," the proud parents said in a statement to People after the birth of their brand new baby girl.
However, as the old adage goes, time flies. Shiloh is nearly all grown up — and it appears her famous father has some serious feelings about that. Shortly after a video of herself and two friends dancing to Doja Cat's "Elvis" went viral, Brad got a tad emotional on the red carpet. "It brings a tear to the eye, yeah," he gushed to ET when asked about his daughter's stellar performance. "Very beautiful," he added.

Like father, like daughter.
Times have been tough for the Jolie-Pitt brood since Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie parted ways in 2016, but the relationship Pitt shares with his daughter Shiloh Jolie-Pitt has continued to flourish. "Despite the ongoing custody battle between Brad and Angelina, he does spend time with the kids, but in a private setting. He prefers it that way and is particularly close to Shiloh," a source told Life & Style in July 2022. "The pair have a loving, fun, and authentic relationship and are cut from the same cloth."
And while it's no secret that the father-daughter duo looks alike, the source claims they share many of the same personality traits too. "They're very compassionate and loving. They're both very open, they enjoy meeting new people. Shiloh seems to have somehow picked up Brad's midwestern demeanor," the source divulged. But that's not all. According to the source, Brad and Shiloh enjoy many of the same hobbies, including playing music, watching movies, and even bonding over their mutual love of art.
Brad Pitt encourages Shiloh Jolie-Pitt to pursue her dreams
All similarities and shared interests aside, Brad Pitt is adamant that he wants his daughter Shiloh Jolie-Pitt to carve out her own path in life.
"Brad never puts pressure on Shiloh and encourages her to pursue her dreams," an insider told Life & Style. "She feels comfortable talking to her dad about anything." But that doesn't mean Papa Bear Pitt isn't protective. On the contrary, actually. "Brad is very big on keeping his time with the kids extremely private, he shields them from scrutiny and is extremely protective that way," a source told Us Weekly. But don't just take our word for it. Shortly after Shiloh's dancing video went viral in June 2022, it was quickly blurred out. "Unfortunately Shiloh's group, as requested by her family & lawyers, has been blurred out temporarily. This is to respect her privacy. Her focus is to train hard and improve while in a safe & controlled environment. Please respect the decision that has been made," a note underneath the original video states.
Why Shiloh Jolie-Pitt forgave her dad
Following the contentious split of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt chose to take the high road in regards to her father's past transgressions. An insider told InTouch that Shiloh had "forgiven" her dad for his past behavior which involved issues with alcohol. "She knows Brad's sober now and doing his best," the insider said. Perhaps part of the reason that the youngster decided to excuse her dad for not always being around in the past, was that the father-daughter duo had grown close, and reportedly "get along really well" now. The pair would be spending even more time together, as Shiloh was reportedly attached to a movie with her dad.
As mentioned, the "Once Upon a Time ... In Hollywood" star had grown closer to his children, especially Shiloh, and the two would often enjoy the arts together. As Shiloh's love for dance intensified, and her dance routines went viral, both Brad and his ex were very supportive of their daughter. "Brad and Angie are both very proud," a source told Us Weekly in June 2022. "They'd have no issue if she wants to turn pro, but they're not pushing it on her by any means," the insider added.
Shiloh's love of dance even began to have an impact on her dad's life. "[D]ance has become a part of my future. Or my present," Brad told W Magazine on January 9, 2023. Perhaps a collaboration is in the future for the father-daughter pair.
