I really love attending UM! The campus is small and it's not overpopulated, so there is a lot of room for personal relationships with the faculty and staff. The cafeteria staff is kind. Honestly, there isn't anyone in my experience that works here without loving it. All of my professors are very kind people and they all clearly have a passion for educating. If you're looking for a small, community based school with small class sizes and a lot of diversity, UM is it. Around campus is also lovely, and there are many nearby things to explore, like Orr Park and even Brierfield Park. The area feels almost tucked away, and it's quiet and safe. The campus police are very watchful, and it is a place where I feel very comfortable walking around at night. UM has been a second home to me, and I love it.
In the two full years that I have attended Montevallo, each semester is unique experience. Most people attend Montevallo thanks to the beautiful campus, peaceful environment setting, and/or the freeness to be one's true self. There are so many ways to get involved with the student body and make new friends and memories. Since UM is smaller than most universities, we make up for with all the events and different student organizations to make each student feel welcomed and accepted. We add sport clubs and other fields of study every semester to continue growing our unique student body.
The University of Montevallo is a beautiful campus with a very diverse environment. The professors are amazing and exceptionally amazing and will be there to help you along the way. Campus life has so much to offer.
The college is amazing, I would like to see more programs offered, however, Montevallo is a liberal arts school. It would be interesting to see how the school grows from that into a place to offer more opportunities for other in a small community-like environment.
