I was a big Eren x Annie shipper back in the day. But apparently Isayama said in an interview that Eren didn't love Annie but rather admired and respected her. That's when I realized that I had to give up on my dream and die.
i mean isayama also said that eren sees mikasa as a mother figure
he also said that he doesnt like the idea of the main heroine ending up with main protagonist
and yet a lot of people still ship EM and and ignore those interviews

to which i replied to him with the fact that a decent amout of people still ship certain characters even tho author himself years ago said that it probably wont happen

I think that many of us thought this because there was this line of Mikasa (when Eren can't transform despite biting himself) saying this : "Or is it... some sort of... special feelings are holding you back ?", during the battle of Stohess
She mentored him a bunch in hand to hand, but most of that didn't get adapted.
There were shippable moments... but I always saw that more as a mentor-student relationship.

You do realize Armin getting spared by Annie is a huge focal point for the plot right? And that the only reason that Annie collaborated with them ia because she wanted to be perceived as a nice person by Armin? And then the whole scene when sje realizes Armin caught her exists. You blind?
Then Eren wants to bang Carla and Dina because of his dad's memories.
Armin calling Annie a good person, Armin keeping secrets from the sc to protect Annie, Annie sparing Armin three whole times, their good person convo, Annie seeing through Armin's manipulation but following him anyways because she didn't want to be a bad person to him, Armin feeling terrible about the whole thing, their convo right before Annie transformed (jeez Armin, I'm hurt. When did you start looking at me like that?), Armin provoking Annie to kill him and Annie refusing, a focus being put on Armin's expression when Hitch mentioned Annie's disappearance and Armin visiting Annie for 4 years.
