My personal experience is not that good, because I am an ex gang member and previously incarcerated. I felt that I was singled out because of my past, especially from the administration such as the E.O.P.S program who tried having me thrown out. Once i got to get to know my professor's it made my experience much easier, although I have no love for the administration East Los Angeles College was cool.
Through my three years enrolled at East Los Angeles College, I have taken many classes, some of which I enjoyed and others that I did not. I have had a few professors who gave me a hard time, but apart from those few professors, the rest were nice and responsive. The area in which the campus is located makes it easy for me to get to since there are many bus stops nearby. There are stores inside of the campus, but there are many stores around ELAC that provide food and supplies. Despite some issues I have at ELAC the campus is great and the people and personnel at ELAC are nice and I enjoy studying here.
I am currently still attending this college. I enjoy coming here as ELAC offers a lot of opportunities to meet and expand our goals. I graduated in 2019 and yet I still return to take courses that can further my career and explore new interests. The campus brings a welcoming environment and the students and staff make it comfortable for myself and others to express their thoughts.
My experience attending East Los Angeles College has been pretty good so far. The campus is very diverse and has so much help available.
Awesome professors as well as councilors. Join EOPS of you can you get so many more resources but overall everything is accessible to everyone.
The professors were mostly effective and caring teachers. Some teachers are difficult to work with, but it's far and few in between. The administration is responsive and there is a good amount of student support. In my few on-campus interactions, I found the staff nice and helpful.
I have been enrolled at ELAC for about 4 years now. I will be honest and ELAC is a very good community college to take extra classes or to even take your GE's and get your bachelor's degree or more. They have so many resources to help you get to where you want to get in your educational journey. The professors and Doctors at this college should all have the same goal to give their students their all to make us succeed in their class. Overall, ELAC is a very good school to start and learn how to grow.
My professors are very caring and supportive. They are always there to provide help and tips on how to do better on the tests.
All of the helpful centers on campus were always close by and open for any questions. Tutors were always available for any subject.
I was a student at East Los Angeles College when I was a freshman in high school. I was able to attend classes there because I was apart of a Dual Enrollment program. The program provided a list of classes I needed to take to earn college credits and a pathway to complete my GE pathway. My first class was History 12 and as someone who never liked history I enjoyed it! My professor was enthusiatistic and it felt entirely different from history in high school. That experience encouraged me to take more college classes in high school. Because of East Los Angeles College I found an interest in psychology and decieded to find a career to pursue in. When I graduated from high school I decided to continue my enrollment in East Los Angeles College to work towards my AA degree in Psychology.
What I like about Elac is that it’s very different compare to High School. I really how they help us achieve the major we want and have advantage of getting more ahead than others. I really I Can actually pass my classes because they have A lot of staff people who help us with homework and get better at it too if we’re stuck. There’s so many other good things that Elac offers. The only I’ll change is having slower math classes, I believe that it goes to fast to where I get stressed out more.
I appreciate ELAC for all this it's provided and helped me discover in my first few years as an undergrad who is looking to transfer. It's a great community college to help get into the student role of what attending a UC or Cal State would be like. I do wish that it was a bit more entertaining. I know that the school is doing a holiday celebration where you can learn about the different winter courses being offered while having fun games and snow for the students.
I got nothing against my classes or my teachers heck even the basic needs office was pretty decent ,but I got a huge problem with the young people who are in charge of giving students snacks in the snack shack they never have snacks ever !every time I go there they only have water. The first time I went there I saw them eating chips and cup of noodles all they gave me was water.I think personally they shouldn’t let the students who are extremely greedy and suspicious to be in charge of snacks and I seen students coming out disappointed with just water.
The professors have genuine care for their students while also providing an overall healthy learning experience. I was enrolled in a summer course along with two fall courses, the teachers were helpful and accessible even with online courses. Two of these courses were science and came with a lab, the information is delivered in bite-sized pieces so students can retain it and are not overwhelmed with the content.
Professors are either very professional and welcoming or rude and don’t want more students in their class.
Ive had immense support and guidance, any question I’ve had they’ve been answered. Coming from a student who’s never had educational examples around me, or any guidance I’m able to say I rely on the counselors and all Adminstrative staffs
As a student at East Los Angeles College, one of my most positive experiences was the strong sense of community among my fellow students. The campus had a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere where students from diverse backgrounds came together to support each other academically and socially. This sense of camaraderie made my time at the college enjoyable and enriched my educational journey.
