Earth Day Discussion Features Leader of Beyond Plastics Group

Joshua Touster Watertown’s Eileen Ryan, founder of Beyond Plastics Greater Boston, advocated for legislation to limit plastic in front of the State House.

Earth Day in 2024 is coming up on Monday, April 22. The theme this year is Planet vs. Plastics. For our April monthly meeting, we are pleased to present Eileen Ryan as our featured speaker.

Watertown Citizens April monthly meeting will be Wednesday, April 17 on Zoom from 6:45 PM until 8:30 PM on Zoom. For the zoom link, go to our website: watertowncitizens.org

Watertown resident Eileen Ryan is the leader of Beyond Plastics Greater Boston and a Steering Committee member of Plastic Free Mass and the Beyond Plastics Virtual Group. She is a trained speaker on plastic pollution and is happy to talk to anyone and everyone about the ecological, environmental and human health hazards of plastics.

She can also be found giving women’s history walking tours of Boston and at social and climate justice actions with her activist art and costumes. Her outfit created for the March to End Fossil Fuels in New York City on September 17, 2023, was featured in the New York Times.
