Menlo School Reviews
Rating 4.13 out of 5 85 reviews
Academics and teachers are generally great. Food isn't bad. The student quality, I feel, has gotten worse over the years. Lots of cliques and fake people. They aren't afraid to talk poorly about you with others right in front of you.
Looking back on my four years at Menlo now that I am about to graduate, I am grateful for a lot but find myself thinking about how things could have gone differently. I enjoyed the way I was pushed to always do my best in class, even if it meant staying up late to get all my work done; I feel like it prepared me somewhat for college academic struggles. I also enjoyed the teachers. It was really easy to bond with them and ask for help when I needed it. As for some things I could see improves, I'd say the people they let in. A lot of kids I knew were not great people. Also, the amount of fun we were allowed to have. I didn't enjoy being on campus really until the end of my senior year.
What I love about Menlo is that you can really choose your own path after freshman year. You've got choices and you've got councillors to guide you. So far my favourite classes have been my electives---archaeology, AP Physics, Push Play (a music production class), AP Chem---because they are classes either built by teachers themselves, or taught by teachers who you can tell are really passionate. Overall, I think we have a great community and can't wait for another year here.
