Merced High School was very restrictive on what to learn and they don’t get you prepared for life or college. It feels like students don’t know what to do after school because they don’t prepare the students for life.
My experience at Merced High School has been great so far. One of the best things about going to Merced High is that I have made a lot of friends. Another good thing about Merced High is that the teachers are supportive and always help when students ask for help. Something that I would like to see change is nothing except for maybe changing all the desks to the same desk instead of having a few that are different from each other.
Nothing should change, it was a normal experience.
My experience with Merced High has been good throughout my freshman and senior years. I say this because the staff really cares about your mental, and physical estate. They care for you as if you were one of their own children. I can say I most definitely feel like a daughter to at least one administrator there. His name is Alex Muro. He taught me a lot and was like a father figure to me. Even if it was rough love or soft love he always made sure his words were clearer to me but I know it is because he cares for me. Overall people might make it seem like Merced is not a "safe" place for students, but honestly, it's the way you make it seem to be. I have felt safe and never have felt threatened by teachers or students there.
Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at Merced high and having attended a different high school before, in a completely different state, I have much to compare it to and I definitely prefer Merced high. Partially because of the friends that I’ve made and the staff that I’ve mentored me, but also because of the school atmosphere that I enjoy so much. I came from a school that didn’t do the best job in making its students feel safe and Merced high is nothing like that. I always feel safe on campus, even if there are some ignorant people who need to adjust today’s standards on why slurs are not okay to say. Besides this one inescapable flaw, my school is pretty well-rounded and most people love it. They could do a better job cleaning the bathrooms, but they have a fashion class which I had never even heard of before and the cafeteria food is actually so good people race to be first in line.
I think with being on zoom my freshman year and due to mental health continuing online school for sophomore year, my high school experience is definitely not as good compared to previous and later years but eventually when I realized how fast time was going I began to live it up to the fullest and merced high has helped me do this with the connections I have made and events they hold
Merced High is an overall pretty good school the teachers are great they all have the potential to improve. The sports programs are great very good athletes. The school can upgrade the track to have a better looking school. The students make the best out of the school it isn't the biggest city but everyone makes the best out of it.
Overall I chose to go to Merced High, El capitan was the choice I should have attended, but I believe I would be a completely different person if I wasn't given the opportunity to come to Merced High. I thank Merced High for shaping me into the person I am today and for encouraging me to go above and beyond !
Merced High School in terms of my experience would have to be challenging. There are some controversies that we struggle with for example the sexist dress code and bathroom policies. I would like to see the school become more about the students than its image. Giving every student an equal opportunity to succeed. I would also like to see more original lessons and teaching tactics than something I can simply find on Quizlet. Over the years, however, the school has slowly started to improve on its imperfections and it started to become the school I assumed it to be. Though we could have done better with our school spirit, I am proud to be a Merced Bear and wouldn't have it any other way.
In Merced High School, you would have a great learning experience and have meet fun teachers. But, there are will be some stress in doing your assignments. I would like to change some clubs schedule that overlap each other.
I will start off with the bad experiences to rise the tension. First of all, the counselors that make or adjust our schedules aren't the best. They changed my counselor recently and he is even worse than my last one. I wanted to ask him something and he shut me down instantly. He wasn't even nice about it. He literally yelled at me "you can't do that," which was very rude in my opinion. Another student who is in my class had him and she didn't have good things to say about him either. She told me he didn't want to see her in person. To ease off the tension I will now talk about the best things in my experience. I would say the teachers who care about you. I have had some nice teachers which can be rare. We still have some teachers who should be fired but the majority are good teachers. I can also say the school spirit is pretty good, and the school events are pretty fun in my opinion. They have a good amount of clubs you could join. I'm in a club and its helped me gain some skills.
Merced High School staff and teachers truly cared about their students. They helped me graduate and never gave up on me.
The only worst parts of Merced High I would say is that all of the other students who try and ruin it sucks because we are trying to enjoy our football games ,rally's ,the actives that our school ASB was holding that day, and the dances. But we mainly have very good quality's the reason why I am saying this is because our Ag Department is amazing and our staff is really good they are always trying to talk with the students and always lending out a helping hand when it is needed and that is why I love Merced High School. I know I just graduated this school year but I will miss Merced High!
I like how respect all of the teachers and students are to each other, the curriculum is difficult as well and will give you a chance to struggle but learn from that as well.
So far, Merced High has created a lot of wonderful experiences for me. Also, the lunch food is very good.
I would like to see our whole school remodeled they remodeled the lockers but who really uses the locker some of the buildings look old and just not used anymore, I like that they got us a new gym and now this year they just got us a football stadium.
The school is honestly one of the worst places to be. The administrators are so rude, the rules are sexist and we have no freedom.
