17 Of Their Hit Singles From 1955 To 1961 Plus Album Cuts

17 Of Their Hit Singles From 1955 To 1961 Plus Album Cuts
Marginal Records is a Belgian-based distributor who put this compilation out in 1997, pulling together a mix of the hit singles of The McGuire Sisters together with some uncharted B-sides. The AAD sound reproduction of the original cuts is clear and clean, and you get one page of background notes, but no discography. I have, therefor, repeated the contents here showing the label numbers and chart performances, where applicable - following the list are the original albums in which the selections first appeared, again where applicable:1) Banana Split - uncharted flip of Track 212) Some Of These Days - Coral 62155 - did not chart in 19593) I Don't Know Why (I Just Do) - Coral 62235 - did not chart in 19604) Achoo-Cha-Cha (Gesundheit) - uncharted flip of Track 235) Volare (Nel Blu, Dipinto Di Blu) - # 80 Hot 100 September 1958 on Coral 620216) Delilah Jones - # 37 Top 100 June 1956 as the flip of Track 207) Really Neat - uncharted flip of Track 168) Heart - album cut only - see following9) Troubled Mind - album cut only - see following10) Gonna Get A Boy - album cut only - see following11) Please, Don't Do That To Me - Coral 61815 - did not chart in 195712) Pennies From Heaven - album cut only - see following13) Teach Me Tonight - album cut only - see following14) Goody-Goody - album cut only - see following15) Sincerely - # 1 Top 100 for TEN weeks early 1955 on Coral 6132316) Just For Old Time's Sake - # 20 Hot 100 spring 1961 on Coral 6224917) Something's Gotta Give - # 5 Top 100 summer 1955 on Coral 6142318) He - # 10 Top 100 late 1955 on Coral 6150119) Tears On My Pillow - # 12 AC/# 59 Hot 100 late summer 1961 on Coral 6227620) Picnic - # 13 Top 100 early summer 1956 on Coral 6162721) Sugartime - # 1 Top 100 for FOUR weeks early 1958 on Coral 6192422) It May Sound Silly - # 11 Top 100 April 1955 on Coral 6136923) May You Always - # 11 Hot 100 early 1959 on Coral 6205924) Ev'ry Day Of My Life - # 37 Top 100 fall 1956 on Coral 6170325) * Weary Blues - # 32 Top 100 late summer 1956 on Coral 6167026) Goodnight My Love, Pleasant Dreams - # 32 Top 100 late 1956/early 1957 on Coral 6174827) Ding Dong - # 25 Hot 100 July 1958 on Coral 6199128) No More - # 17 Top 100 flip of Track 1529) You're Driving Me Crazy (What Did I Do?) - album cut only - se following30) The Last Dance - # 99 Hot 100 August 1960 on Coral 62216Original LP LocationsCoral CRL 57052 "Dottie, Phyllis & Chris" - 1956: tracks 6, 15, 17, 20, 22, 24Coral CRL 57134 "Teenage Party" - 1957: track 26Coral CRL 57217 "Sugartime" - 1958: tracks 1, 21, 25, 27Coral CRL 57227 "Greetings From The McGuire Sisters" - 1958: track 18Coral CRL 57296 "May You Always" - 1959: tracks 4, 23Coral CRL 57386 "Just For Old Time's Sake" - 1961: tracks 12, 13, 14, 16Coral CRL 67415 - 1961: track 29ABC 530 - "The McGuire Sisters Right Now" - 1965: tracks 9, 10Track 25 was billed as The McGuire Sisters and Lawrence Welk And His Champagne Music.
