That's more of a Christmas Eve thing.

If this is their idea of Christmas Eve , I gotta be here for New Year’s.

Yippee-Ki-Yay, mf!

Was always kinda partial to Roy Rogers actually. I really like those sequined shirts.

Generally a chinese restaurant for dinner given how most places are closed for Xmas.

Movies, Chinese food, and take a walk through places that are normally crawling with people.

You peeked at my calendar, didn’t you?

Is Hollywood Walk Of Fame gonna be packed today?

It’s hit and miss since the pandemic. It’s a common place out-of-town visitors like to go (including my out-of-town relatives when they were still alive). I prefer to go when everyone is away for Burning Man or Coachella (but don’t tell anyone that!).

Local dive bars are usually open. And movie theaters. That is about it, as I recall. Christmas is pretty dead around here.

The beach. I've gone to Malibu a few times, and as somebody from a place with real winters, I love spending an hour or so at the beach on Christmas.

Great day for a drive up to Santa Barbara, or to Idyllwild or Big Bear if there's snow.

No traffic!!!

I personally like to just spend the day at home with my dog watching TV, playing video games, or drawing, but LA has a lot of different options:

(1.) Ice skating at Pershing Square

(2.) Hiking Trails

(3.) Echo Park Swan Boats

(4.) Explore Chinatown

(5.) Disneyland

(6.) Universal Studios

(7.) Lots of bars open - Idle Hour in North Hollywood opens at 8pm, The Roost (and maybe Bigfoot Lodge) in Atwater

(8.) Pacific Park in Santa Monica

I got most of these from this blog that has more details. But as someone who moved here from Florida 14 years ago, I can say I feel spoiled with the wealth of things to do in LA on Christmas.

How is citywalk/universal on Christmas Day? I’d love to go with my toddler if there isn’t a big crowd.

I’ve not been to Citywalk on Christmas personally, but I would imagine it will be a busy day. Universal does Grinchmas and Christmas at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and it’s more affordable than Disney, making it a pretty attractive option.

Disneyland will be jammed.

Honestly all of LA is wonderful this time a year since a lot of the transplants go home for the holidays, leaving most attractions with the least crowds you’ll find all year long

The beach.

So you can tell your relatives back East that you went to the beach while they were freezing their butts off.

For real. I hate that people expect things to be open to them, as if those other people don't want to be home with their families.
